Slug and Lettuce is a nice step up from Wetherspoons if you want to do something different. The food is quite nice, and they have a lot of great offers almost every day (2-4-1 cocktails on weekends, 50% off food on Mondays, etc). I didn’t appreciate the huge mark-up on Magners. The staff weren’t super friendly but they were relatively efficient. I would probably still go to a Wetherspoons mostly out of convenience. However it’s a nice change.
Been here a couple of times, sat outside which was really pleasant until the sun went in, but it was the end of Sept, friendly, efficient staff each occassion.
Cocktails on special offer buy one & have the cheapest free, even the fruit cocktails are on the same offer, there was some really nice ones sampled!
They were running on a monthly basis a draught lager from around the world, really enjoyed the Kozel (called the Goat’s beer, as a goat on the glass & I presume bottle, cannot buy in supermarket).

The Slug and Lettuce are yet to win my vote, Each time i have visited i have left feeling disappointed, The staff are rude and too busy chatting amongst themselves to notice that customers are arriving. The last time i went i ordered 2 diet cokes, 25 minutes later they arrived. I then ordered food which took an additional 30 minutes to arrive, the food was good, very good infact but the customer service (or lack of it) left me feeling deflated and determind that i wouldnt visit again...and i havent.
One star....At a push.

Visited the Slug & Lettuce with a party of ten, pre-booked, so they knew we were coming. We were seated inside near the back. The first thing noticed were that the tables were sticky. One table was unstable but we fixed it with a folded up menu. It took 15 minutes before we were asked for our drink orders, most of these took 15 minutes to arrive, although a cup of tea took 30 minutes! Two of the drinks ordered were orange & lemonade - NO ICE They arrived with ice, the ice had already melted resulting in a watered down drink - not pleasent. We ordered Nachos to eat while we waited for the main food to come, the Nachos took 40 minutes to arrive. Our meals took over an hour from the initial order. At no time were we given any indication of delays or when we could expect to be served. The food was actually OK but we would have walked long before it arrived if we hadn't had such a big party to feed.

This is a lovely restaurant right on the harbour seafront. You can sit inside or outside (my preference!) and watch the Isle Of Wight ferries coming in and out, and the Gospost ferry going about it’s business. There are plenty of seats, we have never had a problem beng seated, even in the most popular times, the height of summer! The bar is well stocked and has a great variety of drinks. The last time i went, they were considering doing cocktails too, extra bonus!
The food here really is good, and you are not sat around hours waiting for it either. bear in mind that summer is the busiest time though, so you may have a little wait.
Staff very considerate and helpful too!

We loved it here. Everything about this place rocks. The food was great. The staff were awesome and we had a great time. The price of everything was also very good. I would come here all the time if I could. I would tell anybody to come to this place if they wanted to have a good time.

This is mine and my boyfriend’s favorite place to eat out. The food is delicious and they have a wide range at extremely good prices. The food is mainly pub style although they do serve food from other cultures. They often have special deals on so be sure to sign up to their website.

This is a modern bar from a chain of pubs. The interior is cozy and there is plenty of seating on the balcony outside, which overlooks the harbour. The menu offers a wide range of tasty food which unlike some chains, comes out looking like it has just been made instead of reheated. The pub is popular so in my experience waiting times for food can be quite long. However the customer service is excellent and after I asked how long the food would be it arrived promptly and I was given a discount on the meal. The prices of the food and drink are quite expensive but they run promotions such as 50% off on Mondays. Overall this is fast becoming a favourite.
