Review of Crown Inn from 30 October 2011

We have never had a bad meal at the Crown, always very good or better.

The landlord Matt, is always a very welcoming and cheerful gentleman as is his staff. The premises are clean and cosy, and there is always an open fire going in the colder months, and a well kept beer garden for the warmer months.

The food and drink is locally sourced and of high standard, and the pub has an excellent relationship with the village community as it serves as the hub for most village activities.

I would recommend booking in advance for a meal at this very popular pub.

Excellent food and service. Couldn't find any fault with it. It's been busy with locals and diners every time I've been. By far the best place to eat in Woollahope.

Review of Crown Inn from 19 March 2010

6 Adults and 2 children went to the Crown on 14/3/10 to celebrate Mother's Day. We all agreed that it had been a brilliant choice of mine after reading the reviews on Qype. The place was buzzing withy the sound of laughter, conversation and the clatter of cutlery of crockery. The food was excellent and most of it home made. The bill was £152 which we thought was very reasonable since this included starters and sweets plus drinks.

I would definitely recommend The Crown for atmosphere, good food and friendly staff.

Typical pub grub with a large menu. Not especially seasonal or exciting but good ambience

Don't agree at all. The food at the Crown is far superior. You're obviously connected with the Butchers Arms in some way.

I wouldn’t call the food “typical”, very much nicer than most pubs in the county as a whole. The food always has a seasonal aspect to it as the meat and produce are locally sourced.

Review of Crown Inn from 19 January 2009

For years now the crown has been best known for its good quality food. The only problem is the size of the dinning room is evry small. In the summer there is the beer garden which does help with this but many a time when i phoned for a table, have been told that they are already fully booked.
There is a good sized car park but the pub is a little out of the way but worth looking for. The food is home cooked style, quite basic but cooked very well, the price is slightly above average but its worth it for a treat now and again
