strengthofabear: “Came here on New Years Day for Lunch with Ruiz and others, ended up staying till 11pm. Good jukebox. Helpful staff. Nice beer garden. Good location. Food was very average, standard pub stuff at best and not a lot of choice.” more...3 reviews of The Pig & Whistle in English
we always have fun here and it is a great place to stop off after work - the beer garedn is a good place for smokers and they do meal deals during the week. never been disappointed with the food or service.
The Pig and Whistle is probably the best pub in Wimbledon/Wandsworth within striking distance of the Wimbledon queue. We came here on Sunday night for a desperately needed hot food and to watch some football. The staff at the Pig and Whistle certainly look after the Wimbledon lot well. 2 for 1 meal discounts, drinks offer and generally great service. The Sunday roast was superb!
This place is also excellent for live sport - Big screen out the back which generally shows whatever the punters agree should be on.
Very close to 5 stars.
A brilliant, quiet, cosy local pub.
If you’re lucky enough to live in the area, then you must make it your local! (Or on second thoughts, don’t, because us locals love it just the way it is and want to keep it to ourselves!)
Great beers on tap, and a nice, quiet, relaxed atmosphere that is perfect to enjoy a quiet pint with a mate at the end of the day. At the front of the pub, tables and chairs encourage social catch-ups, and then moving onto the back is the cosy dining area with a mix of banquettes, chairs, sofas and wooden furniture to choose to eat at. Outisde area is perfect for summer drinking and eating…and is warm and covered for the smokers in rainy winter.
The menu is concise, with one dish for every meat type, and all varied. The burgers are huge and packed full of meat. Tuesdays are a good day at the Pig and Whistle - 2 burgers for £10. Excellent value, and you will not be able to move afterwards! That I can guarantee you.
