The Kings Ale house has been refurbished 23 weeks ago. The place has been completely ruined. It used to be a lovely traditional pub with reminders of Hull’s maritime past. It is now a ‘modern cafe bar’. It is dreadful. How can it be allowed that these wonderful pubs can be ruined like this? I was back in Hull visiting family and this pub used to be a favourite stop. I will never set foot in the place again. It seems like no-one else will either. It used to be a busy, friendly place. When I unfortunately walked in the door there were only 2 other people in the newly refurbished disaster…I’m not surprised.

We had a good meal ay a reasonable price sitting in the sun, in the middle of town.
For great food,beer & darts/pool etc come to this ale house that can be found in the centre of the market place opposite Hily Trinity church
Children are welcome & they do a child’s menu too,all meals are served with proper home made chips,new potatoes,rice,salad or seasonal veg.They do great specials offering 2 meals for £8,have only had their steak pie & scampi but loved both & would definately go back again.
They’re open sun to thurs 12 to 11,fri & sat 11 to 12.30 but food is only served til 7,except on their theme nights where food is served later
