5 reviews of Zoë Bar in English
Very laid back and cozy bar considering its so close to the reeperbahn!
found a couch in the back easily even though it was full. the place was very warm and inviting. cool hip crowd, inexpensive beer, and the look of the place is a lil run down in a cooll way.
Very cosy! The old-fashioned sofas are extremely comfy and you can easily fit 3-4 persons on them. Prices are typical for this area in Hamburg, which means that you can buy loads of beer for yourself and your mates for very little money. The service is friendly and (mostly) pretty quick on their feet. However, sometimes it appears that there is an issue of being understaffed, as it can get full rather quick during certain hours, while there remains only one waiter or waitress to serve the crowd. Furthermore, the music is not really selected with love as you might get an electro tune one minute and something much more slow and relaxed the next minute. It is easy to realize that there is just a CD playing and it seems that no one is too bothered about it. Well, this is a good bar to start your evening, but I think if you look to get your night going you might want to hop around the area to find what floats your boat :)
A little known fact: Zoe Bar is cheaper to drink at than Zoe 2! Makes you wonder… is Zoe 3 even more pricey? I will find this out, dear Qypeonauts, and tell you.
What has been said before is true, although post-makeover it’s slightly less dirty than before, and has particularly clean tables… Zoe is generally not a busy place, and doesn’t have the same crowd as Zoe 2.
A word of warning: the staff here are the kind you might dream about.
Zoe bar has a lot of what I call “apocalypse chic”. The place really does look like its about to fall apart in many ways, but it attracts a cool crowd with it’s intimate, dark, little rooms packed full of dishevelled sofas and other assorted decorations and candles.
This is one of three Zoe bars in the area, Zoe2 is much bigger and is just one, much brighter room. Zoe3 is a mirror of Zoe2, but without the sofas and much darker.
Anyway I’d highly recommend Zoe for a weekday chill-out or a weekend pre-Reeperbahn drink. One thing to note though is that it only opens pretty late…
Been here a few times now during the week and at the weekend. This is one very dark sofabar. The music is respectable and the people being a mixed bunch but in the cool trendy young variety.
Every time I have been there it has been relatively full. But everytime we have managed to catch a sofa surprisingly enough!
The staff are great and I don’t have any complaints there.
So all in all a place to visit if you want to chill, chat, or warm up for the nights events.
