Comment: I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to try Lennhof as a hotel and a restaurant on various occasions. As far as I’m concerned the restaurant deserves a number of Michelin stars at the very least. Here you’ll get excellent and forthcoming service on a high level. Over and above that, the kitchen is exceptional and good. But if you’re looking for Vienna schnitzels, French fries and cold slaw, I’m afraid you’ll be looking in vain. To make up for this though there is a chilly chocolate soup to choose from or some other equally outlandish meals. I’d like to recommend the surprise menu: You order a specific number of courses and expressly let them know what you don’t eat (for example fish, game or brine), and you’ll be treated to some really unusual dishes, which are not only beautifully arranged on your plate but really taste good. During the weekend it can be difficult to find a spot in the property’s own parking lot, which is relatively big but because of the number of patrons that have discovered this restaurant it can fill up very quickly.
The hotel is relatively inexpensive (under 100 Euro), the rooms’ furnishings are modern and amusing, obviously in tune with the soccer theme. It’s said that Borussia Dortmund was once the owner of this hotel and that his team would spend the night here before a match.
Both the food and hotel are great. I’d say you can bring the wife here for your wedding anniversary any day.
