I was an international student here for a semester ( i say was, im actually still here on easter break still). As a canadian, and in general, as someone from abroad, i wanted to experience true english cuisine and english culture.
I feel i got the best of that in Sneyds, the meals are amazing, i have never had a better meat pie in my life.Love from Canada.

The Sneyd Arms is a very warm and welcoming local village pub with quite a rustic charm to it, bang in the middle of the tiny village of Keele.
The clientele are a mix of locals and keele University students, and this actually helps it feel welcoming - it feels enough like a 'proper’ pub, but the student quote means it’s not too stuffy either.
It also servers food all day which is both cheap and delicious, and in very helpful portions too!
Definitely recommended whether you are hungry or a bit thirsty!

Sneyd Arms, a little pub in the heart of Keele. Keele itself is a tiny village, most of it is a University and then there are a few houses and a parish. We came across this pub by accident because we’d come to look round the Uni and the restuarant we wanted to go to in Newcastle-under-Lyme was full. But that was secretly a blessing in disguise because this is a lovely pub full of community spirit.
The pub is quite big with adequate parking so you won’t struggle to park if you’re coming in from elsewhere. Inside there’s a lot of seating and while there was a lively hubub in the air, there was still quite a lot of seats available. We sat in a kind of room off to one side to have dinner. They stop serving around 8 or 9pm I think.
I had a lovely lasagne, absolutely gorgeous and really fresh. My mum herself would probably recommend the chilli as the whole of the next day she wanted to go back for another one!
The prices aren’t the cheapest but they’re still moderate and fair for a little country pub. The staff are really friendly and the service was really quick.
The pub serves most popular alcoholic beverages so if you’re looking for a little community pub, you’ve found one here.
