Not much in the way of atmosphere. The front bar is OK, but the back bar is positively gloomy with no natural light. Punters here also enjoy regular earthquake effect as trains pass directly overhead. But there are usually 6 real ales on offer, and the Twickenham Original I had was excellent. It also has a decent pinball machine in proper working order, which is becoming something of an endangered species in London.

Its location must be a selling point - very Central London and situated under a railway that gives you a simulation of train journey while enjoying your pint. Good beer and good wine too. Mind you, when I was there they didn't accept cards which was a tad irritating, hope it's not a permanent condition.

Surprisingly nice pub considering the location and the fact that it is squeezed under a railway arch. If you are meeting people near the station or you've got half an hour before your train leaves, it's worth visiting. The serve good beer and the staff is friendly. This is in my opinion one of the best pubs in the Waterloo area.
