The Garrison may have a reputation for being a great restaurant, but it still retains all the essential elements of a very good pub. The wine list has some real gems and draught offerings include Adnams Best and Leffe.
There's a new food menu every eight weeks, to reflect seasonal changes and to keep things interesting for the many local residents and regulars who prop up the bar three or four times a week.
The homely feel has proved a major hit with Bermondsey’s hip creatives, made further at home by a cinema room in the basement.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It has a lovely, eclectic, slightly quirky interior, great service and a really superb breakfast menu (everything from fruit or pastries to a full cooked English).
However, I find the dinner menu quite pretentious and a too pricey. Good food, admittedly, but it certainly won’t make my list for favourites. It doesn’t feel much like a pub to me. Most Gastropubs at least feel like a pub underneath the fancy food.
If you want a good pub, go to the Woolpack opposite, but stay here for a great breakfast or a more special meal.

Best pub in town…well its not really a pub, its a restaurant. Lovely staff, sexy too, well the women anyway, perfect service, the food is always outsatanding whether its a fish finger sandwich or a fat steak and let it be known, they do make the best fish finger sandwich in the world. Price-wise, for London it’s not the cheapest but its worth it. Environment and punter-wise, its cozy, it’s inviting, it’s full of lovely people but without an inch of pretence…oh, and they serve a bloody good guinness.

The Garrison is a charming little pub on Bermondsey street. Good food and drink and friendly folk. And they have a cinema!
Great place to visit!

The outdoor area at the back has made this venue a haven for smokers since the ban was enforced and increased the popularity of this already legendry venue. The pub is decked out like a traditional pub and has a very comfortable feel about it; food is excellent and comes in proper portions with a variety of different options. The only issue with this place is that it gets rammed especially with the after work crowd on Fridays – get down their early and reserve you table, line your stomach and work your way down the lengthy wine list.

A gastro pub with an old pub feel. A bit pretentious and it’s dark inside. The food is pretty good, but the atmosphere lets it down as if you’re not a regular, it feels a bit like a private members club - they’re not too keen on outsiders - but the regulars do seem to enjoy it as they keep going back!
