A real find - fine cocktails, my kinda decor and a real nice atmosphere.

Teeter down the iron staircase and duck into concrete heaven, punctuated with a bar and some seating; colour accents are provided by an array of glittering cocktails and the shiny happy - often trendy - people who populate Freuds.

The miniature size of this place gives the impression of an uber busy bar, but we got served pretty quickly and certainly efficiently, and were presented with a couple of sterling cocktails. Tip for spring/summer drinking: a Moscow Mule, which tastes suitably sun drenched and retro in equal measure. Ask for olives, they’re tasty and will helpfully bump up your bar bill so you can stick it on the plastic.

Freuds is the kind of bar you tell your friends about (or Qype-type, or both) and it shows, as finding a seat on a Thursday was a bit of a struggle. It’s refreshing to find somewhere where post-work drinking is a pleasure, not a trial. Repeat visits highly recommended.

Freuds! This is definitely my favourite bar in London. The barmen make the best cocktails I tasted in my life. Plus there is a massive list to choose from...

Chocolate, chilli and tequila? A trusty long-island iced tea or anything else that tickles your taste buds.

Follow the fire escape stairs downstairs and you'll be greeted by tons of people and a rustic basement. Freuds attracts the trendy, the beautiful, the artsy and just about everyone else.

Best to get there early on a Friday if you want a table - this place is very popular!!

This is a lovely little cafe to go to if you are in the center, covent garden and fancy a slice of homemade cake and a coffee. It's arty, with various art displayed. They hold art exhibitions here and the art changes each month. It was actually the first cafe bar in London too! Its has a great moody, buzzy atmosphere, with dimmed lighting, and cushioned seating around the edge. You have to go down a steel staircase, and then voila! Its beautiful, and has a realy unpretentious vibe to it. It is also known for its cocktails, and they have an extensive menu. Highly recommended. A real gem.

If you love cocktails, get your money out and join the crowd. It has all you can imagine about cocktails and staff are very keen on their jobs.

If you are not a big fan of cocktails but want to give it a go, take your time reading all the names and ingredients listed on the board before placing your order, you will have enough time to think when standing in a big queue. The worst case, you can just ask a member of staff, they are friendly. It's quite pricey, so try not to order something you don't drink!

According to how busy it is, toilet is such a pain! Dress up if you feel like (NOT a must), it's a trendy place to show off your new outfit.

I can't agree that Freuds is one of London's best kept secrets as every time I've been there in the evening it's been jampacked with hipsters.

This is a very cool bar with an excellent cocktail list, however they start at £5 and I've never been there when there's been any happy hour deals or anything, so it's pretty expensive getting a round in.

The cocktails are wonderful though and the staff old hands with the shakers. Due to it being quite a snug basement bar there can be quite a wait to get drinks as it gets full very easily.

A great place for first drinks of the evening.

One of the best kept secrets in London (for cocktails). Absolutely amazing cocktails, and not badly priced considering they're served in almost pint sized glasses...

The staff are friendly, and really know what they're doing. You have a board above the bar with every imaginable choice and they will make your drink of choice if it's not up there.

Music is worldly and upbeat and artwork is hung on the walls. Interior decor is like some raw funky basement bar from Cuba.

Definitely worth a visit!
