This person must have gone on a bad day as I have never had any problems here.
It does get busy at dinner time, but is worth the wait :)

Very dry overcooked fish, age old chips that had dried out and gone hard. I've had problems before, but tonight really was bad. And it was busy, so stuff was being freshly (and badly) cooked.
Please avoid this place, I have no idea how it has ever won an award, it's appalling :(

Very popular locally because they make the best batter for miles around.
The downside to this popularity is that it gets very busy in the evening, especially on Fridays and at these time car parking can be difficult but when it is park in the local street.

Chips were cold and hard, customer service non-exsistant. Use to like it in there but it's gone down hill big time. Have had 5 bad meals there over last 5 months but kept going back because I had hoped they had got better again like in the past but no such luck. I will not be waisting anymore money there, especially as its not a cheap chip shop I expected a much better standard.

truly forgetable fish and chip experience thats only worth considering if there are really are no other alternatives.
If your desperate, are close by without transport and have no other options, then i would possibly recommend this place.
If you are able to walk, catch a bus or get a lift elsewhere i would recommend you do so.

The food is nice but the service is appalling! The older woman has absolutely no customer service skills. You also have to order in a simple fashion for example 4 x fish and chips would be 4 fish and 1 portion of chips. Service is very slow.

The service here was appauling. As the chips were wrapped they were thrown to the counter. Servers both had bad attitude. Chips were awful and curry sauce was lumpy and tasteless. Avoid at all costs.

Nice cod and chips and great with a voucher that I found in the Weekend Herald. Also, I ended up going back as they had forgotten my saveloy and she gave me two as a gesture of goodwill! Mmmm...tasty and satff are always professionally dressed - nice to see, the Management obviously takes it's business and its customers seriously.

Best fish & chips in town. Sausages are not very nice, I threw the last one away and the premium chicken burgers are always overcooked!

Picked up two regular sausage and chips for the kids and was disappointed with the portion control! The chips didn't fill and 8 and 5 year old let alone an adult...
Will most probably give them another go so they get a chance for a reprieve!!!!

Went there this evening normally excellent quality, told 20 minute wait for Haddock, still no haddock in sight, took home cod that was over cooked or been waiting too long !!! :(

The fish and chips here are the best in Crawley. It's not too greasy and you get a lot! They also do a lot of other things like burgers, pies, chicken and onion rings so everyone in our family has something they fancy. It can seem like there is a long queue but the staff are quick and so you are never waiting too long.

Best Fish & Chip shop for many, many miles around hands down, it's the ONLY place to go for fish & chips in my mind.
Also it's in Pound Hill, not Crawley Down.
