My wife and I stayed there the bedrooms where clean the food 100% the staff great what a great place to stay
Passed by for just a one-day conference, so only just first impressions here: Found the staff (at least at the reception) great, friendly and helpful but in a still professional manner. Nice cosy ambience, altogether good value/quality given competition, would certainly visit again.
This hotel really is a cracker. Although it looks like a horrendous tower block should you gaze upwards, the frontage does distract you from that so you might not actually notice. Don't look up. Once inside, you'll be frustrated that some idiot has decided to price the internet at 17 quid, and the staff have no real leeway to give it for free. On the plus side, they are a cracking bunch when it comes to upgrades, and I've had a fairly pimping suite each time I've come. Oh, to try and not get too used to the "Royal Park Suite"!
The views are fantastic, Hyde Park, the Diana memorial fountain, the London Eye - it's all there. The location is also fantastic to get anywhere really - 5 minutes walk from the Heathrow express and on the Bakerloo so you're at Oxford Circus in moments, or you can just walk. Tony Blair lives just around the corner.
I found myself monkeying around here recently sampling Royal Lancaster's Fairtrade Banana Afternoon Tea. Nice digs! And the location right across from the north side of Hyde Park is phenomenal. It's a contemporary building with a welcoming feel. The staff (with respect to my limited experience) were incredibly friendly and helpful too.
I'll definitely keep this one in mind for visiting friends or colleagues, and I'd relish the opportunity to try the afternoon tea again.
I’ve stayed here several times and have always found the staff to be helpful. The hotel is quite nice overall and very close to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace. Its also near one of my favorite pubs. The rooms are small but clean and the views of the park are wonderful. My stays have always included a free English breakfast its a great way to start your day.
The proximity to Paddington station is a big plus if your coming in from Heathrow on the Express.
While it was OK on entry the room was rather small. For 2 people staying in a twin it was really cramped with almost no room to walk around the bed.
The bathroom was spectacular and the toiletries smelled lovely.
I suppose the argument could be that you spend little time in your room and for that, this hotel is idea. Sitting directly on top of the central line and by a number of bus routes, this hotel is the perfect hotel to play tourist aroun London from
I might not stay in it again but I do think it has great value as a centrally located hotel.
This Friday I worked at the Lancaster gate hotel and what a pleasurable experience. Even though I was working at an event held there I loved every second and I can’t wait to return as a proper customer to stay the night in this luxurious hotel. Before I entered a porter helped me with my bags and the reception ladies couldn’t have been more helpful. I had a good look around at this beautiful hotel and I didn’t want to leave I felt like a princess inside of a palace. Whether looking down from the hotel’s deluxe bedrooms - 416 in total - or enjoying the view from the hotel restaurants, it’s as if the heart of this great city is within your reach - and indeed it is! Marble Arch and the plethora of Oxford street shops are a five-minute stroll from the hotel with Knightsbridge and Harrods just 10 minutes by taxi. The City of London’s financial district is 15 minutes direct by London Underground. I asked to have a look at one of the bedrooms and I believe another reason hotel guests return is for the sheer comfort of our air-conditioned guestrooms, all double-glazed to give you a tranquil place away from London’s bustle. But for some, what really sets the Royal Lancaster Hotel apart are all those small but important details that make them feel so at home – details like the fluffy white bathrobe awaiting them in their marble bathroom. Royal Lancaster Hotel really is a superb choice for visitors to London.
Conveniently located at Lancaster Gate (directly above the tube station), this Hotel which does not belong to any chain I did recognize offers actually really a decent view on Hyde Park.
It was among the cheaper accomodations we found while the Wimbledon tournaments are going on and is surprisingly comfortable.
I can actually open my window and switch off the air condition, and as my room is on the 13th floor, it is actually relatively quiet for London.
I really like it.
Internet use however is ridiculously expensive (17 quid) and quite slow for that.
