Schloss Schönbrunn ist einfach super! Highly, highly recommended for any visitor, tourist and local :-) It is one of the most beautiful and popular venues in city Vienna with spacious grounds, world class landscaping, excellent trails and pathways to follow and delight in and of course set against the castle background itself. It is really one of my favorite spots in Vienna and I would recommend everyone give it a try!
The Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna deservedly is the most visited attraction in Austria. Both the castle and the park are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I’ve rarely seen such a magnificent castle as this one. The sheer size of the castle and the surrounding gardens is impressive, as is the lavishly decorated interior. I can highly recommend the Grand Tour of the castle, which is an audio tour of some forty of the rooms. The quality of the audio-guides is excellent! I can also highly recommend a walk through the immense and equally fantastic park. The Gloriette, which is located on top of a hill in the park, offers superb views of the castle garden, the palace and Vienna. Due to its size and popularity I advise to take your time for a visit and go there early.

Nice attraction to visit, but I prefer to walk around in the gardens than take a tour inside. Nice view top over the city as well.

The palace of Schloss Schönbrunn is the popular and one of the most important sights of vienna and austria. The palace with its numerous outbuildings and extensive diverse park are of great historical and artistic value, the architectural history of the Schonbrunn is very amusing with its ruins, amazing scenery of the gardens and many attractive and breathtaking sights in the area, Overall we can say that Schonbrunn is a galaxy full of facsinating attraction all over.

Stunningly beautiful. Absolutly worth making a trip to see. One of the most lavishly decorated castles I’ve ever been to. It has a very good audio tour, so you can walk through the rooms at your own pace and listen to the talk about each of the rooms as you go.

There are two tours available of interior and I’d definitely recommend the longer Grand Tour, which includes an audio tour of around 40 rooms. Those final few that are only in this tour are the most unique and interesting.
The tour sweeps you across the centuries, giving you a fascinating insight into the history of Austria and the lives of the imperial Hamsburg family as well as highlighting interesting features of the rooms, architecture, furniture and artworks.
One thing I really like is that you can see the personal touches that the family members added over the years, creating rooms tailored to their own specific interests and aesthetics. This brings a lot of variety and a human touch to your journey around the palace.
The Grand Tour, including audio guide, cost me about €13, takes just under an hour, and is impressively available in Czech, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Russian or Spanish.

This palace in Vienna is an unmissable attraction. It is so elegant and full of amazing things to see and do.Easy to get to on the train, from the centre of the city.Walk in the grounds and see the fantastic water features and garden’s.Keep walking up the hill to the cafe and you will get the most marvellous view of the city, great place to have a coffee and maybe a cake too.

Fabulous Christmassy gorgeousness - meadering around fancy little wooden stalls of chocolate and fancy trinkets with a hot mug of glühwein clutched in my mitts…good times in Vienna! With a spectaular palatial background (one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria) this is a must for anyone with a few hours to spare to hop on a bus from the city centre.
Choirs serenaded us from on high and even though we missed the park and zoo (it was a bit chilly in November!) a general feeling of good will, family and friend fun atmosphere made this one of the highlights of a brilliant trip to Vienna.
