Had a very nice meal and welcome from the owners when we went in for lunch. Will definately be going back and some time soon....more people should try it, they will not be disappointed! Three courses for less than £10....paid that for one at The Red Lion in Brafield yesterday.

Review of The Bell Inn from 11 November 2012

Ingore previous bad reviews! Under new, much improved, management.

Yesterday (10th November 2012) I spent the evening, with friends, in The Bell Inn. All three courses were delicious and the portions were very generous. Prices are good and the staff are all helpful, friendly and made us feel welcome. The décor is tasteful and, teamed with the open fireplaces, made the place warm and cosy on a cold November’s night. It is a fantastic find.

I would highly recommend The Bell Inn and it was well worth the journey from Northampton. I will be visiting again.

Review of The Bell Inn from 27 October 2012
After a recommendation from an admired local radio presenter today, my husband and I decided to try the Bell Inn, Little Addington for a meal this evening.  It took a little finding but at least there was plenty of room in the car park.  The place was interesting and well decorated although very dark in the dining room even after we pinched candles from another table.  There were about another six diners already eating when we arrived.  A couple of nice real fires were an added bonus on a cold night. From the limited menu we chose Vegetable Risotto and Gammon.  The Risotto was nice and well presented, the Gammon was also fairly well presented but incredibly salty and the chips were undercooked, accompanying spoonful of salad was awful.  Anyway my husband ate most of his meal leaving about half of the gammon.  A pleasant young waiter informed us that one desert would be complimentary because of the gammon. Great, that made us feel better.

We then followed up with a Cherry Crumble with custard and a Chocolate Fudge Cake with clotted cream.
This would be sure to cheer us up.  The crumble came in a tall glass dish and was surprisingly stone cold.  We asked the waiter if it was supposed to be cold and he said I don't think so and returned it to the kitchen where they "kindly" microwaved it and returned it to my husband.  My fudge cake was nice and chewy and the fudge sauce was well set on the plate but the clotted cream was nice.

Prices would have been fair if the food had been a bit better.  Unfortunately, we will not be going back.

We at the Bell take the enjoyment of our customers very seriously. We sincerely apologise that your visit was not as enjoyable as it should have been for you both, and have taken your comments as feedback helpful to us after only being reopened for 3 weeks. We are addressing our suppliers to ensure we source Gammon steaks that are less salty, and would like the opportunity to make amends with you both. If you would like to visit us again, we would be very happy to offer a complimentary meal for 2. If you will consider this then please get in contact either by emailing- thebellpub@live.co.uk or call us on 01933651700.

    Once again, apologies.

    Harriet (the owner)

Review of The Bell Inn from 19 March 2012

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. A catalogue of disasters.
We booked a table for 6 and a high chair for a toddler for 2pm on Mothering Sunday. My son had driven with his young family 120 miles to see his mum, and enjoy a Sunday Carvery. After arriving to a very busy tight squeezed in car park, we were told the table was being laid and we were to wait in the bar and would be called. By 2.15 we hadn’t been called so we went to find out whats going on. We were told the table was still being laid And to wait in the bar, it would be ready in 2 mins. At 2.25 we went to ask again and was very rudely told people were still eating at our table and to wait. Amongst other things we were  told it wasn’t his fault people were still eating, and they were disorganised! Food was slow, hense the first sitting over-ran. He was on his own at the bar, staff were stressed out and panicking as we were not the only people waiting, a group of thirteen were also unhappy.
We left without eating and the experience at the Bell was one I’ll never forget. I have eaten here before and I had to send my dinner back then, I should have known better than to book here for my special day to be ruined.
NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Review of The Bell Inn from 20 November 2010

going on a reccommodation, my husband and I took my 90 year old uncle for a birthday celebration dinner. What a dissapointment.

Although the staff were very welcoming and attentive the food really let it down. My husband had pate for starter which arrived with all sauce dripping over it, it looked like it had been dosed in tomato soup. admittly they changed it.
The roast beef was cut so thick and was so tough it was almost inedible.
We were offered vegatables which included peas. No peas arrived and they had to be ask for, by the time they arrived the meals had almost been eated.
Apple torta and apple crumble were crossed off the menu, and I had paper in my bread and butter pudding.
Not what we had hoped for and needless to say we won't be going back.
