Satterthwaites Confectioners

I am so glad I found the amazing Satherwaites, well my mum did and brought a cream puff round. I live by the 80/20 be healthy rule, and since then for my treat each week it's always from Satherwaites. I will never touch a supermarket cake, pie or bread again.

I love their bread and I don't usually like pork pies, however theirs are out of this world. I love their puff pastry cakes with cream or custard and choux bun type cakes especially.

It's nice to support a company with such history and hope they are round for years to come

This place is legendary - I grew up in Crosby and there were about 4 branches dotted around Crosby and Waterloo. Awesome cakes including my personal favorite “the chocolate jap” a delight of goey hazelnut meringue with chocolate ganache filling and chocolate flakes on top. Their sausage rolls are equally great - the sausage meat is quite spicy. These are for grown ups! Shame there aren’t any Satterthwaites in Liverpool City Centre - they’d be awesome instead of pikey Sayers!

Ooh, Satterthwaite’s! Even though I never lived in Formby as a child, Satterthwaite’s is “home”. A proper baker, with yummy bread smells coming from it, not awful additive smells. Its the kind of place where the locals know approximately what time the fresh bread comes along, and they can get it still warm.

In addition, they have a hot counter, a fairly normal range of pies.
