I love the cocktails, particularly the newly added Del Boy, although my favourite will always be the Strawberry Woo Woo. It’s always packed to the rafters on a Saturday night, but Friday after work is a good time to go for a drink with friends. If you sign up to something on facebook you can get 2 for 1 drinks vouchers and other offers (which obv change over time).

Great during the day for a lunch. Many interesting dishes including vegetarian options. Staff are very helpful and committed. Layout is great, and seating outside overlooks the river, which is very pleasant. A little pricey, but with the quality of the food, it’s worth it.

Almost exactly the same as the Original Oak in Headingley inside, with a great outdoor area overlooking the river. Not really my taste in decor but the service was ok. Bit messy.

A very good pub considering it's part of a big chain. Good for food during the day and obviously good for a shot or two at night.

I didn't rate it that much; I've never tried the food so if that's what you're hoping to find out about, read the other reviews. I went there on a night out and it was absolutely rubbish. It's overcrowded downstairs (and not even in the buzzy, up-beat way most clubs are) and you can't hear yourself think. I wouldn't mind the latter, with it being a club, but the music isn't actually good at all. Not one song they played was decent.
Never buy cider in there - it's absolutely extortionate. Other drinks vary hugely in price, but none are what I'd call amazing prices.
Overall, it's okay to stop off at for a couple on your bar crawl, but I definitely wouldn't recommend staying in there all night.
Oh, and it's not worth queueing for ages. It's not good enough to waste all that time on, to be honest.

Fantastic lunches. Extremely child friendly during the day, with colouring books and crayons. Staff are friendly and attentive, food is great value. A favourite of ours for Saturday lunch with the children.

What a lovely friendly place. Sat outside and was served quickly and with such politeness and courtesy. Lunch arrived with the 15 minutes stated on the menu and could not be flawed, tasted excellent and was piping hot. We were left alone but there was always someone around if we needed anything. Will be going back next time i'm in York.

A really cool bar. The food here is really, really good. The burgers are absolutely huge and really delicious. they also do 2 4 1 on the burgers all day Monday. You can buy a privelidge card too for cheaper drinks. They do wonderful cocktails too! Recommended!

This is one of the more popular bars in York and can get very busy at times. There are a wide range of vokda drinks available and a lot of different flavoured vodkas. The drinks are fairly expensive and the music is really loud so it isnt the place to go if you want a quiet drink. It does have a nice balconey which looks out on to the river

One of the national chain of Vodka Revolution bars the one in York isn’t exactly my favourite. As is the same with all Revolutions it does a huge variety of vodka shots, which are ok prices and the flavours make the vodka more bearable for people who don’t really like it. They also do nice cocktails.
Whay I don’t like about it is the fact that it’s always so busy and is often full of under-age teenagers because there aren’t bouncers on the door all the time and the bar staff don’t really ID. It takes ages to get served unless you know one of the bar staff and there often aren’t any seats available because they frequently close off the upstairs for private parties.
The music played is good but too loud to be able to talk to your friends and there isn’t a dance floor downstairs, although the volume the music plays at there probably should be because it’s more like a club. I prefer th upstairs. It’s normally less busy, quieter and has a sort of dance floor, but it’s often closed off.
I definitely prefer other bars in York, having said that Revs is probably the best place to go to get shots. During the day they serve food there, but I’ve never had any so can’t really comment.

One of the nicer incarnations of the Vodka Revolution chain, due to its canal-side location, making it a really pleasant place to enjoy a drink or two in the summer.
Surprisingly, given its cheap, the food here is really, really good. The burgers are absolutely huge and actually appear to be handmade, and the goulash is delicious.
It’s worth getting a Revolution card if you’re likely to eat here often, as it gives two-for-one meals, but I’d steer clear of the house wine it gives a discount on, it’s swill.

Bar Revolution is a new addition to the York bar scene and as the review above states it does offer create facilities and everything looks shiny and new.
My biggest issue with the bar is just how crowded it gets, obviously this is not something to knock the bar about as they want as many people as possible in it! I’m sure many people would enjoy the busyness but its not for me!
Its the place you would go as part of the crawl, you wouldn’t spend a night dancing and drinking away in there.

Vodka Rev is one of the most popular bars in York. It is on the river front and has a really nice terrace / balcony but it does get very crowded especially in the summer months. This is good for smokers as it means you can don’t have to actually leave the bar to have a cigarette. The interior is very contemporary, sophisticated, stylish and well though out. The menu of shots and cocktails is tempting and tasty, although quite pricey. If you buy a pitcher though its pretty good value. Often have specials and party nights which are good.

I have to say that with the times I have visited Revolution Bar it has always come across as a very popular place to go to on a night out and it is always busy and its definitely one of the places to go on a night out in York.
It used to be Bar 38 but I dont remember it being that busy then as it is now as Revolution. There is lots of space both upstairs and downstairs and on the nights when it is really crowded you can even venture outside up until a certain time in the night.
It is always a place I like to go with friends and your never short of having a good time and this place making your night one you will not forget.

New to York this past year, Bar Revolution has attracted a vastly increased amount of customers than its predecessor, Bar 38. Bursting with the usual Revolution drinks offers, this bar will be crammed with music and activity most nights. With sophisticated outdoor decking overlooking the river, this provides one bar which caters more caringly for smokers who don’t want to be reduced to dragging on one in the street. Small parties can book the upper floor, and look out for all sorts of themes going on: last time I visited there was a lovely lady in white fur pouring Russian vodka down an ice-sculpture. Revolution have also beaten the other establishments in being the first place I’ve seen with a Christmas Tree.
