7 reviews of Berliner Dom in English
The church itself isn't huge inside, but the dome is huge and the ceiling impressively high. The decorations are pretty amazing and the organ looks pretty incredible although we didn't get to hear it playing properly.
Upstairs there is a museum of past designs of the Dom (it has been completely rebuilt twice). There are also all sorts of plans and models from the last competition to redesign the church (in the 1890s). You can easily spend an hour looking around this. Unfortunately, most of the descriptions are only in German though - for the entrance cost this really ought to be rectified.
Higher up, you get to walk around the outside of the dome and get some amazing photos. Note: the first time you walk around the dome is inside and the windows are incredibly dirty - you will go up again and then outside!
Downstairs is the crypt where most of the Prussian royalty from the past 400 years are buried. A lot of the coffins are incredibly detailed, but mainly are damaged. Again, all of the descriptions are only in German, which can make it a bit hard to follow who was who...

This is one of the most amazing structures I've ever been in. I am not religious, but I went for the sunday service to hear the organs at work. I like this place!!!

What a wonderful church in the city centre of berlin. An impressive combination of history, handicraft artwork and our present time.

Visit the Berliner Dom in the historic city centre. The veranda offers a wonderful view of Berlin, the Alexanderplatz and the historic Nikolai quarter.

We visited the Dom to see the crypts and the beautiful ceiling of the dome.
A most impressive church (it is not a Cathedral) and one that stands out in the city.
I remember well its neighbour, "Honickes Lamp Shop" which has now been pulled down.
It is being replaced by a modern recreation of the Schloss Palace. You can watch progress on the webcam on the museum roof.

Absolutely impressing church! A “must” for every Berlin visitor. Wonderful interior and spectacular view over the city.
Most impressing the crypt where the members of the Hohenzollern familiy (Prussian kings and German emperors).
I tried to imagine what stories they could tell….
