I can definitely say that the Weitenburg castle is an special place to get married, because that is just what I did in the summer of 2004! The Baron of Rassler himself took the time on several occasions, to go over all the important details of the celebrations with us. He is a very nice man, not a hint of snobbishness. I also found it good that he didn’t try to sell us any unnecessary extras. Bringing your own cake is no problem (in terms of price it is better than the Baron’s appointed baker ). The castle’s small chapel, where the church takes place, is really rather nice. You can also get a civil ceremony in an annex of the castle. We were lucky with the weather and we could have coffee and cake served outside in the castle grounds. The food is wonderful, there is no other way of describing it. The admittedly steep prices are fully justified. What I really found great is that they invited us to stay our first wedding anniversary in the most beautiful room with a four poster bed and a view out onto the Necker river and we only had to pay for dinner ( which was also around 100 EUR, but for your anniversary it’s fine…).
