Definitely Goose improved in last few months! At least now when you do walk in to this pub you no longer feel unwelcome! Loosing so called regulars was the best thing what could happen! Before when you walked through the doors you were welcome with glares and comments from punters who obviously treated that pub as theirs making u feel like an intruder not a customer! I I visited this place on Saturday night and have been pleasantly surprised by great atmosphere, welcoming staff and most important completely different clientele! Well done!

My friends and I visited The Goose for the first time in years. I must say a lot has certainly changed, for one it seems to have new life. It's no longer full of nasty old drunk men who can't control their bladder, it's now a nice young and friendly crowd. Staff were dancing around the place and really upbeat, prices were a little higher than before but still more than reasonable and the DJ was spinning some really good tracks. The only complaint I have is a slightly long waiting time but that would be expected because the place was packed out, way more than it used to be. Keep up the good work guys and you'll see me every week!

since mandy left, the pub has gone down-hill.
the regulars have all but gone, along with the atmosphere and heat.
the tables are dirty, and tacky to touch, and rarely have menus on them. the pub is cold, and keeping your coat, hat and gloves on, is a must.
young children and babies are now allowed into  the pub, makeing the grown ups feel uncomfortable.
the new manageress comes across as rude, with no sense of humor, and doesnt seem to care about the pubs new negative vibe.
every week it seems to get emptier.
bring back someone who knows how to run a pub, and keep the regulars comeing in.

I am only giving the Goose 3 stars. Not because its particularly a bad place. it just doesnt do it for me. I feel quite clastophobic in there, as the only fresh air you can get is out the front, which is in the main shopping area of Stratford. Apart from that, cheap food and drink.

I go there off and on. Think it is a Weatherspoons or that type of place. Massive floor space so a great place if want to have a team/office drink up. Good range of decently priced drinks. Bar staff are pleasant.

Really reasonably priced drinks, good facilities. Standard pub fare. Televisions on the wallls but only seem to broadcast terrestial or Freeview and you can't hear them anyway.

No music so can quite easily sit in a corner with a book or have a business meeting. Facilities are good, clean and spacious.

Very long bar and sometimes the bar staff do not seem to split it up between them so may not have a handle on who is next. Sometimes there are young looking barmaids who seem to serve whichever geezer or regular has come into their general eye line and anyone patiently waiting their turn on the periphery can wait. Bar etiquette is less prevelant among clientelle than in some other places, seems onus on customer to have bar prescence, if you can get beyond that minor irritant is a reasonable spacious place for a decent inexpenisve drink and chat.

Previously a bit of an 'old man smoking’ type of pub, since the smoking ban came in its been a lot more pleasant.

The clientele still tends towards the older crowd, but all are welcome. Cheap and cheerful food and drinks are available and its equally good for a reasonably priced lunch or a drink after work with friends or colleagues.

Its kept clean and the atmosphere is friendly, and with no loud background noise or music playing you can have a conversation at a reasonable level.

I’ve been to this pub a few times and I’m quite a fan!! The drink and food prices are brilliant, especially as the area is just a 20 minute train ride to central London - great place to start your drinking and meeting up with friends for a night out!!

They serve a variety of food, big lunches/dinners and also snacks and platters. The food is of great quality, never heard anyone complain about the food. Drink prices are good, much like a weatherspoon pub.

The pub doesn’t play any music but is well decorated and always clean!! There are plenty of tables and a couple of booths for larger groups - great place to talk with friends.

The only bad thing about this pub is that the toilets (ladies anyway) are through a door at the back and up some stairs. This can sometimes be a little tricky when you’ve had a few too many :-p

The goose is a very large pub which opened only within the last five years situated in the row of shops in front of stratford centre.

This is a quiet pub with no pool tables or any live music or any entertainment.

They hve a few fruit machines scattered around anda few flat screen tvs also.
They show the live football and sporting events on these tvs.

They serve food all day mainly smll snacks at reasonable prices.

The drink is very cheap as they are in competition with the weatherspoon just up the road.

The toilets are a bother as they are at the furthest end of the pub and up a fe flights of stairs.
I think they have a disabled toilet for those who need it.

Great overall pub for meeting riens but not great for having a night out.

Well very simular to another well know chain,is as much as the size of the pub and the decor, although slightly cheaper, but what stands out most to me, is the fact that the staff have manners, silly though it my sound, I like someone just to say hi, please and thank you,and as i was leaving one member of staff said, `have a nice day`which i thought was very polite. food looks reasonable, althought on this visit i didnt try anything, but all in all i found it ok. returned this weekend and enjoyed a steak and ale pie with mashed potato and peas amazing at 2.99.

Decent place, its one of those chain pubs with a good range and cheap drinks, as well as a good selection of value food. Fish and chips was well decent, the regular portion is really large!

Lots of seating and due to its layout and size, doesn’t get noisy with echoing and such. Lots of LCD TVs around, but if you’re looking to catch football on Sky Sports, you’re out of luck as the place doesn’t have cable TV!!

This is really what they call ‘an old man’s pub’ but the best thing about this pub is they serve lunch for a very good price and they have promotional discounts on pints and larger so you can have a drink and it won’t cost you near enough £5 they’re toilets are nice and spacious. It’s along the line of o many other venues and so therefore it’s a great place to be at, at anytime early or late and move on when your ready the staff appreciate their older customers always asking and seeing if they’re ok the people and staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome.
