We walked in to find it nice and the play area was good but in need of some TLC and the staff was unfriendly. The food was okay but until it's staff and play area is revamped it maybe a while until we return.

I love the Lymwood, i go there most years for my birthday meal and as often as i can in between! Its cheap for a carvery and im always stuffed after! i find the staff servicing the carvery very nice and friendly most of the time (but hey we all have our off days) ok if your after the type of service where they’ll smile and have a chat with you this sint the palce for you ast he staff are always very busy but the service is always good and ive never felt the service is anything below the standard that should be expected! The carverys great and so are the deserts! ive ended up going abck the following day for desert in the past as i was too full fomr my main to fit desert in but didnt want to miss out! The kdis area is great and the pub quiz is great fun id definatly recommend it and have done to plenty of people!

i like going to the limewood we have friends that live near by and seem to go there alot, the food is good and has actually got better in the last couple of months (think they may have a new chef) the childrens area is great for us as our children go and play till dinner is served, i do agree that the staff can be a bit rude like they cant be bothered but thats just a flaw that needs to be addressed other than that a great resteraunt, so many people are good at complaining when something isnt to what they like, everytime we go the limewood we have to wait for a seat it is always packed so obviously cant be that bad.

Have been to Lymewood Farm several times and have not had a a decent experience yet. The last occasion I asked a member of staff (I think she was the Duty Manager) why there were long dark hairs on my mushrooms. After consulting the Chef I was told that they were a variety of hairy mushrooms !!
and my plate was plonked back down in front of me. I also had to send back my daughters portion of chips as they were uncooked and cold and after the third attempt we just gave up and left. I have not been back since. My son’s girlfriend was also served a raw sausage. Come on people its not rocket science to cook a sausage properly !!!! This is a pleasant pub to visit but the food leaves a lot to be desired and so does the attitude of the staff.

just been to lymewood as we have not been in over 12mths due to food cold and staff not friendly, thought we would try it again to see if there is any improvement, to my disappointment not altered food cold staff do not look as though they enjoy there job especially when really busy.

Just been to have the carvery with my wife and I have to vote it the best one I've ever had. Plenty of choice, loads of it and cheaper than most. The menu also has plenty of alternatives and is reasonable but the piece de resistance has to be the desserts. I don't have a sweet tooth but I was drawn by their sheer indulgence. I highly recommend a visit it was excellent

Gypsey1978 has a point about customer resentment. I feel a bit miffed that I can't wear a hat, enter with 4 other men below the age of 30 & have 2 sit/stand in a designated area if I want 2 drink alcohol. Rules rules rules, & stupid rules at that. The owners clearly want 2 attract clean cut, classier public, which is fine, but the food & drink, service & overall presentation doesn't back up or deserve these type of regulations. Walk into Lymewood & you'd struggle 2 find anything that would set it apart from any other gastro pub. On the plus side, the food is pretty good and reasonably priced & half decent carvery is available. The thing which Lymewood specialises is the desserts. There are always a wide range of treats & cakes available 4 eating in or 4 'cake away'. These cakes are ever changing & freshly made. Shame that the ale is a bit on the pricey side.

Customers are an annoyance to the staff at this pub. Food is edible - just about. Its cheap- yes, but enjoyable, good tasting, hot - NO!

I did say cheap- but the price of drinks are not - over £5 for two pints of coke - what a mark up - cheaper to buy larger. If your the named driver or a none drinker give this pub a wide birth!

I really love the carvery here, great price at £6.95 but i wish the service matched. There is always a wait for a spare table wich i dont mind but some people do because you have to listen out for your named to be called you feel nervous incase you dont hear them anbd they give it away. Then you que up to pay for your meal and then quew up for your drinks, then you que up again for your food, which my dad hated but i thought was worth it for the fab food. They have an amazing choice of huge cakes to eat in or take-away, loveley but expensive! The only other prob is that when you are eating you feel rushed because they need the tables as they are so busy, so the second we finish we feel like we have to leave straight away.

If you go on a weekday at 5 its less busy and proberly a better experience.

Have been here a few times and never really enjoyed it. last time I went I ordered lasagna, it was cold and tasted like it had come straight out of the microwave, which I suspect alot of their food does. The drinks are stupidly expensive too. Suppose this is because this is actually a restaurant, more than a pub. And it's always full of kids running about and crying. Not my cup of tea.

serves up a very tasty carvery and other foods aswell. if you attend in large numbers (15+) some of you will have to have the carvery no questions asked as the kitchen cant cope cooking so many meals at once. sign on the door saying no groups of lads greater in number than 3 if under 25, which is a bit ageist and sexist of them as when girls of that age get to gether then can be just as loud and crude as lads. gets very busy most sundays so arrive in plenty time to search for a parking spot and to Queue up!
