Review of Powerscourt Waterfall from 24 August 2010

Powerscourt has always held fond memories for me. As a child we would always have a couple of family outings here every year. Now as an Adult I bring my kids here whenever we get the chance, they love it, weather permitting. Powerscourt is the type of place that reminds you why tourists come to Ireland. Well worth a Sunday to explore and relax.

Good afternoon from Powerscourt! Thanks for such a lovely review. Powerscourt Waterfall holds many happy memories for me too as it was a place I spent many happy days with the Cub Scouts! Each time I visit, it brings me back to days past there. I’m delighted to hear that you now bring your children to the waterfall and are continuing the tradition. Stunning and breathtaking, this waterfall is like a hidden treasure. I only visited this spectacle last May when my dad was back home for a few days - and actually I hadn't even heard of the place before that! It makes for a lovely day out. The sound of the water splashing and the feeling of the little drops.. it's amazing. We also saw tons of deer hopping up and down the mountains. Seriously was on a nature buzz that day! Marvelous; worth every minute of the visit.

Greetings from Powerscourt on a sunny day! Many thanks for your kind review – it was wonderful to hear how much you enjoyed your visit to the waterfall. I find the sound of the water is incredibly relaxing and leaves you feeling refreshed and energetic! I’m glad to hear you met some of our locals when you were here – as well as deer you may spot a red squirrel or two on your next visit! Powerscourt Waterfall is one of my favourite places to go nearby Dublin. It has the purest air I ever breathed, I swear. Located about 7km from Enniskerry (on a dodgy mountaineous road), you have to pay to get in, but you can bring your picnic with you and there’s a little kiosk and a lot of parking. The waterfall is Ireland’s highest and looks absolutely amazing. There are a lot of paths in the surrounds to see the nature and the lovely sceneries. Worthwhile seeing any time of the year - I saw it once on a beautiful autumn’s day after it had been raining which added to the beauty of it when the amount of water running down multiplied. Stunning in the summer too.

Good afternoon from Powerscourt! I do agree with you, the air quality here is amazing, and combined with the sounds of the waterfall, the whole experience is very refreshing. It is indeed well worth bringing a picnic or a BBQ here and making a day of it. The waterfall is enjoyable both in the sunny weather and after a heavy rain shower, when the water cascading is at its heaviest. I’m very happy that we are on your list of favourite places to visit!
