Nice field but suffers from the classic Scottish "Four Seasons in One Day" weather.
Snowboarding, a breathtaking view, lovely snow and a bacon roll. Nothing beats it! You need to get to the hill mega early to guarantee a parking space in the top car park. Be prepared to pay crazy amounts for food. They know people will pay it so they will try and bankrupt you! The staff are really helpful and friendly and don't forget the amazing railway journey up!

Great place for a day’s skiing or snowboarding or as many of the visitors there just to take in the scenery of the beautiful Scottish Highlands.
Our days snowboarding tuition cost about £75 including hire which may be a bit steep but we loved every minute and as we went on a Monday in March got personal one to one tuition with a great patient instructor as the slopes were quite. Apparently they get really busy on weekend days and getting there early is advised!
We also found the food in the restaurant at the top reasonably priced for great homemade grub. Just make sure you bring a change of clothes and know when the last bus leaves if you’re not driving there.

Decent runs, but when I was there in March only 6 runs at the top were still open. Very easy to get to by bus from Aviemore, and there is ski hire available before you board the furnicular.
In terms of prices, £29 for a day’s skiing is a bit steep, especially given the lack of slopes, but it is one of the only ski slopes available in the UK.
Don’t try the restaurant at the top! The food there is lousy, and expensive… save your money for the better restaurants at Aviemore and bring a packed lunch.

I have been skiing here for nearly forty years. How times have changed, gone are the surly rude staff, everyone was really nice and had evidently been trained in customer care. The food in the Ptarmigan “at the top” was excellent and good value. I had a very large piece of carrot cake and a hot choc for £3.85. 2009 has been an excellent winter for skiing and the staff have worked hard to get the snow in the right place and groom the slopes. The runs that were open (most of them) were in good condition. A half day ticket is now £20 which isn’t cheap but worth it on a nice day when it is reasonably quiet. The broken ski lifts (White Lady T Bar and Fiacaille T Bar) look awful. I wish they would either fix them or remove them, not just leave them standing there as eyesores. All in all a fantastic afternoons skiing, I will be back as long as my knees hold out.
