Sun Inn

The cheery yellow exterior of the Sun Inn invites you to take a peek inside but on the day we visited the welcome was not quite so warm. We were the only customers apart from a small group of locals/friends of the bar person sat at the bar and I rather got the impression that we’d interrupted the conversation. Service was rushed and not particularly friendly, just enough and no more is the best way to describe it. The Black Sheep beer was fine and dandy but I wouldn’t bother returning. Maybe we just chose the wrong day but with two other pubs in Alnmouth to choose from I think I’d opt for one of the others instead.

Friendly local pub in the middle of Alnmouth. Cosy and welcoming, I believe they have a quiz night every week and occasional live music (neither on the day we visited). Service was fast and friendly. There’s a main bar, and a games room further towards the back (pool, fruit machines, etc). And intriguing art on the walls. Well worth a visit if you’re in Alnmouth.
