I've been going to Whitten timber for over 20 years. They are one of the oldest established - and best, timber merchants in London. They are just as helpful if you pop in for a couple of lengths of planed pine or trying to match something rare and exotic. I recently found a beautiful length of oak which they trimmed for me. It's only just over 4 feet long but now it's varnished and in place it looks amazing. They know their stuff and i'd recommend them to anyone doing anything more complicated than screwing in a nail! There are also members of the family still involved today so you get that great service with a big slice of genuine 'sarf London history
