I find this very difficult to believe. Both brothers are reserved and polite. And both are bald as coots so wherever the hairs came from it wasn't from them!

Don’t go here!
On complaining that she had found three hairs in a sandwich she had ordered my elderly mother in law, who was visiting from Winchester for the day, was virtually accused of putting them in it herself and then told to "go away you old cow". All by one of the brothers who runs this place!
Luckily I live locally so will be making it my mission to ensure everyone knows how awful this is.

I agree with Olbas, I'm a South African whom lived in WSL for a year. The Bell was my local, although I lived closer to the other pub in Boardmoar Rd. Both brothers are very polite and great hosts!! I miss WSL dearly. I came home to SA to study, I have just finished my degree and can not wait to go visit WSL again.
The setting is a country scene straight out of 101 Dalmatians. We are in Waltham St. Lawrance for Sunday Lunch in, a Free-House with real ale on tap - Some of the brews are very local.
The menu is mixed, from sandwiches to full meals. Unusually they don't do a tradional lunch. We ordered steak and chips and calf's liver with cabbage and puy lentils. The steaks were perfect - the mayonnaise was home made. Yummy. I'd recommend The Bell.

Lovely really old traditional village pub located in the small village of Waltham St. Lawrence.
They have good bar food and very nice beer on tap. The choice of ales and bitters changes frequently and they are interesting and unusual brews.
There is seating outside – a few benches by the side of a square for when the weather permits.
I had a hot dog with nice sausage and fried onions and served with homemade ketchup and the bread was homemade too.
Simple cooking very well done seems to be their way. And it works a treat. If I want fancy nouveau cuisine I will go to a fancy modern restaurant.
When I go to a pub I want simple, homely nosh. Job done!
