The Card & Gift Company

Had a very bad experience in The Card & Gift Company today. Tried to return an item, explained why i was returning it and that it was in perfect condition. Was first of all told that this wasn't one of their products?? Then i explained that she had personally served me and that i had the full receipt. She then offered me a credit note. I wanted a full cash refund back onto my bank card, which she declined saying that it was not company policy. I wasn't happy, i don't think i have every been refused a refund with a receipt and within 28 days of buying the product. Then at this stage another sales woman intervened and kept repeating that i should call trading standard! So unprofessional, aggressive and poor customer service i cant tell you! Then i requested head office or the managers name address and number. Was told by the aggressive saleswoman that there was no point as she never answered and always went to voicemail. how right she was. Have left 2 messages and still no joy. Avoid this overpriced, tacky, unimaginative and snooty shop at all costs!!!

This is a really lovely shop and is very interesting to visit. They sell a really good range of cards and wrapping paper for all occasions. They also sell a fantastic range of very unusual gifts to suit almost anyone and at all different price points. They have jewellery, teddy bears, candles, purses, handbags, glasses, vases etc. They also have a Thorntons concession which is handy as you do not need to go into town for these. I have bought quite a few gifts from here and found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

Parking facilities are excellent as there is a big car park outside the shop. Public transport is available also. Well worth a visit.
