Review of Archer's Butchers from 1 February 2009

A traditional butcher tucked away in Hanover. The quality of the meat is superb - once you’ve had a steak from here, even the best organic steak from Sainsbury’s tastes bland in comparison. He emphasises quality over organic (for instance the chickens are free-range from a small supplier as they taste better than those which are nominally organic). He will happily joint your bird expertly, advise on cooking times, and will give you a carcase for your stock pot if he’s got one. They also do eggs and a small range of organic juices. The only downside I can think of is that the delicious organic sausages are frozen.
