A nice family restaurant where the male waiters joke with you and teach you Italian.
The food was nice and the desserts that you choose from a tray were absolutely delicious!
We had a great time! Would definitely recommend!
A small, simple, but nice and good italian restaurant near Camden Town tube station in North London. Nicer than "Strada" not far away.
My lasagne was good and the chocolate thing I chose as dessert was simply delicious!
A firm favourite.
The personal service, well priced food, and central Camden location make this a winner time and time again. They allow you to take your time, or can rush through if you are heading out, the personalised service is really what makes this place stand out.
You can choose from a standard variety of Italian fare, but the specials board is where you should really focus. A good mix of meat, seafood and vege options all for a really reasonable price. Mains come with two sides, typically the yummiest rosemary potatos and a green.
House red is very drinkable and it's almost impossible to spend more than £30 for a couple with wine. Bread sticks and baguette is offered upon arrival.
Dessert is homemade and delicious if you can fit it in!
Hmm, not really as impressed with this as others have been. Granted, the waiters are really friendly and explain the menu pretty well, but the decor is a bit shabby and there wasn't a great deal of atmosphere.
Whilst the desserts (wheeled out on a trolley) were good, our mains were fairly average and the menu itself didn't have that much on it that really sounded appealing.
Bellisimo. There’s a very rare Urbanite 5 stars right there. But these guys just got it right on many levels. The decor is average but serves its purpose. You’re likely to be served by one of two older Italian gents who niggle at each other in an endearing way and fall over each other to ensure you understand the Italian specials board they bring round to your table. Price is pretty decent for what you get - we had 2 starters, 3 mains and a bottle of vino for £60. And it’s the type of place where service isn’t automatically included, but one where you wouldn’t actually mind.
Cherry on top for me was I went in there with a little craving for saltimbocca (a dish of veal, sage and proscuitto, that actually translates to 'jumps in the mouth’ :) ) but it wasn’t on the menu. A little dispondent I gazed over the other, admittadly yummy things, on the menu and when the guy came around for our order I thought I’d mention it. His reply was 'You want saltimbocca? No problem.’ And it wasn’t. And it was brilliant. And so was the duck breast with a cherry sauce that my friend had.
All in all a simple dining experience that can rely on its raw talent over bells and whistles.
Kept meaning to go here and finally did and it was brilliant. A real Italian family feel, and while so many restaurants are now sadly quite empty, this place was heaving. By the way the waiters were talking to customers, this is clearly a place that people revisit. Other than a tomato and mozzarella salad off the normal menu (flavoursome, generous portion), everything else we ate was off the specials menu. I started with fresh anchovies, which were perfectly dressed in olive oil and citrus. For main, I went for an Italian stew which was rich and meaty and filling and lovely. My friend had meatballs which were also very good. House wine was very drinkable and you get free breadsticks and everything! Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food, not at all hard on the wallet. Can’t wait to go back.
