You're spending your holiday in Chiantishire (or possibly even deeper in Tuscany) and after the frist week of country bliss you decide that it's time for a bit of city life (nothing to hectic, of course), with some culture and possibly some (souvenir) shopping, so naturally you decide it's time to hop into a car and set off for Siena. On the road you realise that you left your guide at home and are unsure where to start with the sightseeing....
Tricky, unless you go on to park your car at the parking "Via Bastianini/Porta San Marco" (there should be some signposts to the south of the city). Because if you enter the city from there, you will come to a fork with a baroque church (see first photo), you keep right and shortly after the fork you find on your left a newsagent (easily recognisable by the array of international newspapers and the contrada flags over the door - as shown by the other photos).
Hey presto: Your one-stop shop for your tourist needs (well most of them, anyway:)
There are tourist guides for Siena and the sourroundign region, there are enogh postcards to make most your friends and colleagues envious (and naturally there are pens as well), there are newspapers and magazines to help you catch up on the news you may have missed during your country retreat.
Moreover, there are hidden depths to this newsagent as it doubles as an internet point as well, so you might just as well check your e-mails, upload some holiday snaps and qype that lovely trattoria you found the other night.
Best of all: You won't have to get out your Italian phrase book as the newsagent speaks English pretty well (he's one of his best customers and all over the internet :), so it might always be worthwhile to have a little chat to find out, if there is anything special going on in town.
