Its one of the things that are most obviously London but it isn’t something I like . It doesn’t work for me . Its supposed to be a monument to a national hero , but the poor old thing is stuck up so high you can’t really see him – and it makes him looks so small ! I would have liked the column far more without the tiny little statue .
A beautiful monument and always an amazing sight come rain or shine.. You can only imagine the view that Nelson has from his post.
Great monument to a national hero, Admiral Horatio Nelsons victory at the battle of Trafalgar.
It is the centrepiece of Trafalgar square and is surrounded by the 4 famous lions which were added about 25 years after the statue was built.
Recently when I was there it had only just been renovated & cleaned. The pigeons certainly don’t take too kindly to good old Horatio - do they have no respect? ;)
I think it’s a great monument in a great location, so iconic that infact had Germany won the 2nd world war hitler planned to cut the statue down and remove it to Berlin would you believe?
another beautiful monument of this incredible country wen i go to trafalger square and see it i jus look in amazment at the beautiful sight of such a historic thing plus i love my country so much lol
This is one of londonds greatest landmarks in trafalgar square standing tall over whitehall!
