It has been a while since I've checked out the "Cochon". At the time, Behrmann was chef de cuisine. This time I was just curious if the new Chef would be as good as the old one - and good he was. The guy's name is Benjamin Stoeckel. The quality of the products which he employs meets highest standards, as do the visual and flavourish aspects of his creations. He doesn't shy away from daring meals and ingrediences, while the atmosphere and the feeling always remains the same: elegant, but not pretentious. Simply good. Prices are ok, personnel is friendly, the piano player adds a special nuance to the romantic yet non-tacky atmosphere.
Unpleasent: you need to pay cash. They don't accept credit cards AT ALL. But I hear they give you a bike if you have to go and get money from the ATM....

War lange nicht im Cochon, zuletzt zu Behrmann-Zeiten. Und dann kürzlich wieder mit meiner Freundin. Quasi als Test, ob's noch so ist wie früher. Und siehe da: der neue Chef kann's. Ganz wie der Alte. Benjamin Stoeckel heisst er. Super Qualität der Produkte, starke Gerichte (auch mutige Dinger wie Innereien), alles unpretentiös und elegant (aber nicht überkandidelt) dargebracht. Einfach gut. Preise stimmen, Service ist gut drauf, der Pianist ist herrlich romantisch-unkitschig. Nervig: Bargeld vergessen und zum Automaten gehen müssen. Bringe die Barschaft daher nächstes Mal direkt mit.
