Very Very disappointed with the store. Bought a electric draper plane the drive belt broke within the hour! when I returned it to the shop was told to take it up with Draper!

Not bothering to shop here again.

I think this shop is ace. There is so much character in the business. Where else can you buy a coal scuttle from a selection? or even as an everyday purchase?

I remember this place as J Albright Ironmongers in the 70's and early 80's long before Pellymounters bought it out;it was a good ironmongers shop AND still is, has a good selection of items but despite the old CALOR GAS sign above the shop I don't know if it sells CALOR GAS anymore, also had a lighted CALOR GAS rectangular sign in the window when Albrights owned it (it did sell Calor Gas butane and propane cylinders in Albrights time as an ironmongers, it also sold the full range of Calor Gas mobile heaters that were available at the time ie Superser/Infradex Alvima/DIP Premiere/Valor Gas Glo and many many others and it also had on display the very first Calor Gas barbecues notably the GII and it's sister models plus it sold butane and propane regulators and gas tubing too), but it's still a good shop with a decent range of things at reasonably competitive prices. By the way Pellymounters in Millom DOES sell Calor Gas cylinders in butane and propane variants,all towns and villages all over the UK should ideally have a Calor Gas stockist that has butane and propane refills in all the sizes for collection and all Calor Gas stockists should also offer a free delivery service as well if you like(if you don't have time to go the place and pick up a refill for taking home) so that you can keep your mobile heaters/bbq's/cookers/central heating etc running without being stranded with no place you can go to or ring to get fresh cylinders or have them delivered due to lack of time.

The title is actually Pellymounters Ironmongers and Hardware. This a good, old-fashioned hardware shop which sells almost everything. One of the sales people is crotchety and efficient, but the other very pleasant and efficient. For a small shop the prices are reasonable. They do a good range of kitchen utensils. At the right time of year, I buy my bulbs here. The sign outside says Alwrights, which is from a previous owner. This shop also has a branch in Millom.
