We hated the way there are signs everywhere that say flash photography scares the animals and yet thousands of flashes kept popping off scaring the Gorillas.
The zoo keepers reminded everyone of this rule but no one seemed to want to enforce it. The Gorillas appeared bewildered by the flashes but clearly a photo is more important than the animal!!!
The park was dirty, overpriced and reminded me of the old style parks of the fifties. Come on London move with the times. Visit a park in Australia and see how it is done.
Animals first. People second. PLEASE.

A great day out particularly with children. Tickets cost £17 and if you can get over that a great time is there to be had. Personaly i think the childrens petting bit is the highlight, where you’re allowed to stroke the animals but i think everyone has their own favourite animals. At times the smell can be a bit overpowering but it’s to be expected as it’s a zoo. Also not to be missed are the penguins and the reptile house.

I guess if you have kids it's fun but if you don't it's mostly a waste of money. Most of the animals don't come out of their private habitats, & even if they do it's just what you expect of any plain zoo. no added charm or attractions or anything.

The Gorilla Kingdom is definitely London Zoo's outstanding exhibit...unfortunately it hadn't been officially opened when I visited last year :-(

Coming from Australia I found the Aquarium a bit of a waste of time but there's plenty still to see and do and it was obvious that they are making a lot of changes to this place in order to keep it running as a major attraction for years to come.

My favorite animal was the cute Pygmy hippopotamus

It costs about 15 pounds for an adult but it's well worth it if you love animals and are lucky enough for the English weather to hold out for a few hours.

Great place. Make sure you are couple of hours before closing time. The Butterfly Paradise is great. Morning times are the best to go as animals get lazy in the afternoon. The aquarium is also a cool place although some renovation seems to be going on. Gorilla Kingdom is good and the best part is that you are separated from the gorillas by an inch thick glass - great for photo shoots.
