strengthofabear: “Came here on New Years Day for Lunch with Ruiz and others, ended up staying till 11pm. Good jukebox. Helpful staff. Nice beer garden. Good location. Food was very average, standard pub stuff at best and not a lot of choice.” more...4 reviews of Sir Christopher Hatton in English

Just up the road from where we work, it should be one of our regulars, but as King of Diamonds is nearby, it isnt.
The place is big, has a dungeon like downstairs area, plenty of seats on the ground floor, but the joy is probably standing outside in the summer.
The bar is never too crowded so you get served quite quickly.
Weve had a pub quiz downstairs once, which was comfortable, and the food was ok!
went here for three beers last night and really liked it, wide variety of lagers and beers on offer, friendly bar staff and a party atmosphere. Maybe its only like that at christmas, who knows, but i thought it was good.
My friends had a sharing platter of food, I had a battered mushroom and a new potato with a paprika based sauce. Both were acceptable in a pub food sort of way.
The mulled wine looked and smelled good but I didn't try any.
OK, I haven’t been here for 5 years, so you could take my review with a pinch of salt, apart from the fact that Nay says it still rubbish. This place used to be called the “Goose at Hatton Garden” and was a really bad pub then. Pretty cheap considering its proximity to the city, but that was its only redeeming feature.
Pretty big, souless pub, just off High Holborn. Was looking for a Pizza Express but didn’t find it as my friends refused to listen to me and insisted on looking on maps on their sodding blackberries, which meant that instead of going where I said to go, we went totally the wrong direction and ended up here as we were hungry and there were clearly no pizzas about. For some reason they have an extended sausage menu. I mean in the sense that they have a big variety. Except they don’t actually have everything they profess to sell, only the ticked items on the board (about 4 out of 15 types when we were there). Didn’t look too tasty when they arrived and the mash looked like it came out of a packet. My pie should have been fine - I mean clearly a pre-frozen one heated up in oven. Except that the pastry was a bit hard and not much filling. Gravy served with was thin and tasteless, the veg was limp and a poor excuse for carrots and beans and the chips were soggy. Oh, we walked past Pizza Express on the way home. It was where I said it was. And everyone inside looked really happy. Bah humbug.
