Aasee

Great place to go for a bbq during the summer periods. Full of young students relaxing in the sun. At the same time it is perfect for jogging whether in summer or winter. The whole area is very well kept and maintained.

This artificial lake in the city was build in two sections in the last century . In 1934 the old Aasee lake was as big as the range of the promenade to the Tormin-bridge. In 1976 the Aasee was expanded and the new part of the Aasee led from the Tormin-bridge to the small bridge Canisiusweg. Water birds found here their brooding or fishes their spawn area. It is also a pleasure to observe the Kormoranes or the grey herons from the surrounding trails at the Aasee. Even the canteen of the university is located at the Aasee. The canteen is run by the Studentenwerk Munster, therefore the above addressing. A place of recreation in the middle of the city!
