Deer Park Hotel

Set along a winding track in the Devon countryside, it’s a very comfortable, fashionably shabby, but some areas could do with a little investment.
Large guest lounges, small bar area, great views over the countryside.
The room I had was very large, slightly dated, but no full shower in the bathroom.
Dinner in the restaurant from a wide menu was pretty good, but not gourmet standards. Breakfast was good.
A part shareholder is Nigel Wray , connected to saracens Rugby, and the hotel is full of sporting paintings and photos, mostly cricket and rugby, along with other memorabilia.
Staff were courteous, reception can be rather matter of fact, depending who is on duty.
