One of the best breakfasts i have had in London. The American brekky came with pancakes, maple syrup, 2 giant sausages, bacon, poached eggs and hash browns. Delicious! I also had a fantastic berry smoothie which did wonders for my hangover! Service was good (considering how quickly this place fills up in the morning) and i loved all the movie memorabilia on the wall.
Walking distance from Angel and Highbury & Islington tube stations. I will definitely be coming back!

Unsurprisingly I want here for late breakfast as a place to relax and chat with a very health conscious friend. The ambience was relaxed and american; wooden tales, cushionss, stipped pine floor but the ervice was incredibly slow, we waited an eterinity for our order to be taken and slightly indifferent. I ordered an americano, fruit salad and a bacon sandwich. The coffee was good, but split into saucer (I know a bit fernicky, but I like a clean saucer!) and fruit was fresh and an interesting mix. The bacon sandwich was poor: It was just a hunk of bread with some averagely cooked bacon - I ate half.
My friend order granola & yoghurt and an OJ (I told you he was a health nut). Both were ok.
And it seemed quite expensive. I wouldn’t go again. I had high expectations after walking in and it didn’t meet them.

I visited this location of Breakfast Club expecting free wifi, as I was advised that the Soho location offers this for its customers. Alas, that was a bad assumption and it was not to be had in Islington. Then, after being seated and excitedly inquiring about the Apple-Cinnamon and Bacon-Banana French toasts on the menu, I was told that French toast was also not to be as their griddle not working…bollocks! So true to form, then, I went instead with Eggs Florentine. As I write this (from the restaurant, actually), I’m still bummed about not getting French toast, but the latte is very nice and is helping to pacify me.
And my real-time review continues with my Eggs Florentine now arriving… but apparently there’s a shortage of spinach in the land…. Either that or a new global outbreak of spinach contamination has made the last few good leaves worth more than lobster, caviar, Krug…. I find it so curious that I can’t help but inquire of one of the friendly wait-staff if this is the regular portion of spinach that is served up with the Florentine, and –to her credit – she gave me a regretful look and assured me that it was just the way they do it here.
After I started eating I realized that one of the eggs is way over-cooked, i.e. solid. Not what one desires when one requests a Benedict I dare say. Again, a nice server happily says she’ll bring me another poached egg from the kitchen, which I find odd as most restaurants I know would simply take the plate back and re-do the matter. I eventually get 2 new poached eggs brought out, one that is perfect, and one that is slightly under-cooked this time around. At under 6quid for the eggs and about 2 for the latte I would be hard-pressed to say I had either a good or a horrible dining experience.
It was so middle of the road that I wavered between 2 and 3 stars before settling on 3, and this only because the staff was friendly throughout, and I appreciated the passive-subversive blue door for the women’s loo and pink door for the men’s downstairs. I had had high expectations of this place and was looking forward to it so I’m understandably disappointed I think. If you go I’d advise an order of something more standard, like the pancakes (or maybe the grill for the French toast will be functioning when/if you visit). I may still try out the Soho location at some point but I doubt I’ll be back here.
