I think Rosie’s is more popular and really, more fun with better food than O’Neils.

I always enjoy the atmosphere in Rosie’s and I’ve actually been there when you can SIT DOWN and ENJOY the place. Shocking but true!

It’s fantastic fun but there is a problem at times with being pushed around and as an often lone female in there, I don’t feel it’s the friendliest environment as compared to other Oxford pubs.

Surprisingly, there aren’t many Irish pubs in Oxford. I think they’re all lurking abroad! This is actually quite an Irish one, as far as they go, with Irish themed things all around, and the typical music to go with it. The atmosphere is good, and it’s not an overly studenty pub. Quite a lot of tourists come here, so there are often fresh faces. The drinks are reasonable - they have most of what you’d expect. All in all, good for something a bit different (unless you’re from Ireland I suppose!). Not a particularly cosy and quiet pub for a chat, but good fun for an evening out with friends.

Ive been to rosies a few times and its always had a good atmosphere.. tho it can be a little ’’old man in a cap’’ at certain times early in the day! If you are looking for an irish experience in oxford then this place is it. It is more legit and friendly then its peer O’Neils. They play irish music, have irish decor and on all the times ive been there there has always been irish behind the bar. I spent a few paddy days here as a student and it was very crowded. The only bad thing that ever happened was they run out of guinness last year!!
The prices are reasonable - not the cheapest (Goose) and not the most expensive and is a good laugh if your in a group.

This pub offers a genuinely Irish atmosphere. You even get radio from Ireland piped into the loo! One of the best features, for nice weather, is the terrace where you can take a table overlooking the river. Inside the facilities are very comfortable, with space to sit at the bar or you can take a table.

On the odd occasion that i want to be surrounded by Anglo jibbing, raucously drunk singing Irishmen, i head to rose's, especially during the 6 nations. Rose's is the only Irish theme bar that's worth your time in Oxford. Although saying it is a 'Theme' is anything but true. It is Irish from the door to the bathrooms. Missing that Irish rebel music of home? rose's has your back. With its rustic charm, and “cosy” side bar's, its is a fantastic place to take in a rugby game or enjoy a quiet pint of the black stuff by the fire on a cold winters afternoon.
