a really great venue, have seen many bands here and the sound is always good to, too many times been to local venues for the sound to ruined by an over enthusiastic sound engineer but not here, good bar and fairly easy to get served depending on how busy it is, agree with Darcoff about the loos but it adds to the feel! loads of other good similar bars in the area too.

You'll often find a lot of 'big bands to be' playing here, as Barfly seem to have some fairly incredible scouting selection policy when it comes to picking them out. Whats best about Barfly (once you've found it!), is that on a Saturday night, you only pay £5 in usually, and get your free entry into the Santuary nightclub afterwards for that...they have to pay a fiver as well, and you avoid the massive queue! Brilliant!
It's at the back of the Sanctuary, so turn left off Digbeth High Street, you'll see a big sign down the side road just after Salt and Pepper chip shop.
Also, especially on club nights, you can get the promos available for Panic later on in the evening, so cheap drinks all night!

The Bar, great venue for up and coming bands & established. accoustics are great and the beer is good and reasonably priced. £2.50 a pint Grolsch (I don't do suckin from bottles, gave that up as a baby).

Best venue for any type of gig, whether it be underground, hardcore, a little acoustic or even some good old folk. Not too far from the Custard Factory itself, another great place to visit.

They've had some amazing shows this year, in the past I've been lucky enough to see The Kooks, Primal Scream and The Raconteurs. The toilets aren't the best but for atmosphere and music its wicked."
