Traffords - Broad House Hotel

I’ve just spent two fantastic days at the Broad House Hotel as part of the Nelsonspirit training course. Philip and his team looked after us superbly, with excellent space for the course and workshops, food that was out of this world (you must try the rabbit nuggets!) and very comfortable rooms. Not only would I heartily recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a break in the Norfolk Broads, but it’s a superb location for business meetings and courses.

We’ve just stayed for a night at the Broad House Hotel to celebrate my wife’s birthday. They looked after us superbly, including giving my wife a birthday card from the team at the hotel.

The room (Harry’s Room) was wonderful, with a relaxing sofa overlooking the grounds, a huge bed, one of the biggest showers I’ve ever seen and two baths (his and hers).

We ate in the restaurant for dinner and it was delicious. There are 7 different courses, starting with small aperitifs in the bar or garden, then soup, starter, pineapple sorbet, main course, pre dessert taster chocolate mouse and then dessert. You can add an extra course of cheese if you like, plus of course special coffees and all the rest. The Beef Salad with blackbean sauce was incredible.

Breakfast was also lovely. Nice fruit salad and selection of cereals, before cooked breakfast which you select from a whole range of options, including local sausages, bacon, kippers etc.

With lovely grounds to walk around, locally sourced food and Wroxham Broad on the doorstep, the Broad House Hotel is a superb place to escape, for a romantic break or to celebrate.

This is a not a cheap place, but for that special occasion it is well worth the visit.
