Great place to come in a group. They have live music and you can get up and dance. The food is very good, has authentic greek selection. It’s a spot you should visit, preferrably in summer for the atmosphere.

loved it in here! got a table straight away without making a reservation. loved the greekish atmosphere! waiters were a little annoying coming over every 2seconds but very friendly. we got a tapas which was really yummy & price wasnt bad either!
Dimitris is an excellent Greek restaurant located near the Hilton hotel on Deansgate. When visiting I opted to sit outside in the covered area, which had a fantastic vibe to it - if it wasn't for the Manchester weather I could have been sat in a back street in Greece somewhere! The music was at the right volume adding to the atmosphere, but allowing conversation to flow.
On to the food; I shared muscles and dolmades (vine leaves), both of which we very nice and well cooked. For the main I opted for one of the epitomes of Greek cuisine - beef stifado, accompanied by rice and roasted potatoes. The stifado was flavoursome and the meat tender. The rice too was nicely cooked as was the roasted potatoes. We washed all this down with a couple of bottles of red wine and between 3 of us the meal came to around £80. A definite bargain!
I would definitely go back to Dimitris again and would most certainly recommend it to anybody looking for traditional Greek food. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and it was a pleasure to dine here.
A Manchester institution on the edge of Castlefield in the shadow of the Hilton tower, Dimitri's is always busy, and having visited on a few occasions it's not difficult to see why.
Dimitri's is at it's most fun when you're there as part of a group. On the menu, skip past the slightly expensive tapas and main course list, and go straight for the "Kalamata Plata" mezes combos - available in Vegetarian, Meat and Seafood options, it's best to go for a combination of two or even all three of these (depending on how many people you're with), and then be prepared to have every inch of your table taken over by bowl after bowl and plate of delicious Greek food; from meatballs to couscous to falafel and houmous, it's all there - you'll be stuffed afterwards!
If you're looking at somewhere for a birthday celebration or a staff night out, you could do a lot worse than Dimitri's, I'd definitely go again : )
One of my fav restaurants, good food and nice atmosphere especially in the arcade part. If never been got to try this place
Omg omg omg!! What has happened to my favourite place in Manchester, I have been eating here for over 15years and have never been treated so rudely by a member of staff, we felt like we were interrupting and were a total inconvenience!!!
I've known Dimitris for a good few years, but never actually went there before tonight. The restaurant is located very close to the Instituto Cervantes, and is within easy reach from either Castlefield, Salford, or city centre.
You are greeted by friendly and excited staff who dutifully take you to your table. This is a trendy place, and they have an outdoor seating area, so on a summer evening you have every chance to relive the Mediterranean dining experience, complete with earthenware dishes, wooden furniture, and traditional music. The interior is dim but stylish, with huge windows overlooking Deansgate and LalQuila bar across the road. It all seeks to fuse a traditional Greek taverna with a touch of urban Mancunian modernity.
There are a lot of Greek dishes on the menu, as well as some pastas. They have an extensive wine list, but my friend and I opted in for a jug of sangria. Their stuffed wine leaves and Octopodi come highly recommended, as well as mouth watering Hot Camembert and chillli beef. And Greek yogurt and honey will serve as the most beautiful crown on this feast of succulence. But beware: it is very rich and filling and is served in a large glass dish. Don't try it after a full meal... unless you have a good rest between the courses!
This is one of my fave places to eat out in Manchester, it is great for finishing off after a summer's day drinking in Castlefield. Food is lovely and make sure you grab a seat in the arcade. The atmosphere is good and I have always had good service.
Great tapas & they do fairly well with big groups too
This is without doubt one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester.I love the ambience of the place. I feel I am transported to a different place when I visit there! The food is beautiful and good portion sizes.Tucked away off Deansgate…a little gem!
Great mediteranian food at this cosy Deansgate restaurant. The menu is varied and there are plenty of choices for vegetarians such as pizza, mezze, and tapas.
The inside is a maze of different rooms with some tables outside in a sheltered area. There is a nice cosy atmosphere but it can feel a little cramped because it gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights. For this reason also it is best to book ahead at the weekend.
The meals are big portions which offer good value for money at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and the service generally good. I would reccomend Dimitris as a good value place to eat in Manchester City Centre.
a very nice tapas restraunt i would recomend this was over la tasca the food taste fresher and seems much more authentic. there is not a hugh amount of room inside the restraunt and it does get very busy. they also make use of space in a kind of alley that is round the back and side of the restraunt. the area is covered over and they have heaters on to prevent it getting to cold. the food is very nice but if you are seated outside it does have an impact on how quickly the food goes cold. on the whole a good restraunt.
Great little restaurant, very relaxed with good reliable food and very friendly service. Perfect to go and eat with friends.
Big portions, if a little expensive, but with a quirky charm and a nice bunch of regulars. Course, I used to work there so I would say that. :)
Dimitris rightly occupies the status of a Manchester classic. The food is fantastic, both in terms of its quality and the choice available. Having eaten here on numerous occasions I can say that the quality has never been anything less than superb. Service is also very friendly and attentive. The bar area is lively; you will normally find an eclectic mix of live music on offer. This helps to give Dimitris a friendly and welcoming a vibe. It can get very busy at the bar though so I might suggest that you get there relatively early and grab a space.
They have so many options on the menu, it's hard to know what to choose!!! Every one of them reminds of a holiday one summer in years gone by. Once chosen, it's time to move onto the drinks...and then off into a daydream again looking at the sun-drenched artwork and decor of the place. The staff here do everything physically possible to make sure you enjoy you food here. If it's good weather you can duck out onto the terrace and really feel like you were somewhere far far away...
This is a Manchester stalwart, been around for what seems like forever. Its a little Greek restaurant on Deansgate, towards Castlefield with a great atmosphere. There are 3 main areas, the restaurant in the middle, the bar att eh front looking on to Deansgate, and the undercover outside seating area in the alley at the back which is lovely and fiercely popular during the summer! The menu is always the same but the food is pretty good, and there are good options for groups. The service is great, and to sit in the bar at the front and listen to guitar players/singers while making friends with the eclectic mix of people who are regulars is a great end to a night.
The food in dimitris is divine. The menu is vast but you can tell time and effort goes into each meal. Theyre is alovely outdoor part at the back if you fancy eating alfresco. The food is very well priced considering the quality of it
