I was informed by one of the assistants in the shop who perported to have a degree in photography that they only sell art materials intimating photgraphy is not an art. I drove 30 miles to be told this. Also they don't accept credit cards for purchases under £5. This was my first and last visit. Back to ebay!!!!!

The Art Shop is a fantatic shop located in Darlington town centre. It is full of all kinds of art supplies, from fine art to pastels, from hardware to craft material. There is something for all your artistic needs.

It is also child friendly, and an excellent way to get the kids more creative.

An amazing shop-my son is quite arty and is always in here buying bits and pieces to be creative with. I always enjoy mooching around and always end up buying cards or pens. There is a fantastic range of everything-whether you are looking for oil paints, acrylic paints, water colours or various artists pens and pencils.
They also stock creative kits for younger children making it a great place to take children if the weather is not so good and they have some holiday money to spend.
The Art shop also stock original paintings and prints-you can buy them mounted or mounted and framed. They have an extensive selection of local scenes painted by local artists.
I would recommend this shop to anyone-whatever their age!

The Art Shop is by far my favourite shop in Darlington and I'm not even an arty person. It sells a huge variety of framed artwork and just about every piece of art equipment you can imagine. It is very reasonable and is great for children on a rainy day. It is also a great place for cards and gifts!
