The Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College has a great reputation in the town. It offers a brilliant range of AS/A Level and equivalent courses. A great place to go for students wishing to go onto University, The QE equips students with plenty of support and fab teaching whilst allowing that extra bit of independence not always offered through Sixth Forms attached to schools. The College has a very social environment with a large common room and plenty of activities. Located directly opposite a nice park, this college offers lots for it's students.
A well equipped library with private study areas means students can study on site with access to support and resources.
Performance rates of students is very good, the recently retired principle has been praised for his hard work to raise standards and this shows in the exam results from it's students. I have never heard a bad review from ex-students and as one myself would reccomend the college to anyone.

I attended the QE for two years from sep 2002 to july 2004. I loved my time here and would love to go back. It has an extensive range of courses and a massive library. The staff are friendly and treat you like adults. Since I left the college has been greatly extended and looks completely different, I had a walk around it about 8 months ago and the new facilities look fab. I would highly recommend it.

The Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form college is a beautiful building right by Stanhope Park which is a bonus for free periods in the summer.
It offers a wide variety of courses such as A-Level courses, AVCE's and so on. There are hundreds of subject to from such as Philosophy, Health and Social Care, Law and Fine Art.
The teachers are all really helpful and easily become your friend plus there is a fantastic careers advisor so that you always know your career options.
It is home an extremely social common room where students can congregate to play pool, snack and chat. There is always a great student president who organises lots of social events and the college has a huge catchment area and is right in the town centre.
