Well well well. Yes it's a nice pub in a nice location but what's a pub for? Well for me it's a warm atmosphere and good customer service.... So how is a man to feel when he turns up for last orders and is served by someone with less personality than a plank of wood and then forced to listen to that plank of wood tapping at the bar waiting for you to leave. Rude unfriendly and needs someon to come and sand it down.

What a plank.

Review of The Prince Of Wales from 17 January 2010

Kennington's finest pub. It is a bit pricey, but not that bad. Shepherd's Neame, so the beer is good. It gets pretty busy because of its fantastic location on Cleaver Square. In the summer, I can't think of a nicer place in the world to be but outside the Prince of Wales, watching (or indeed playing) les boules on cleaver square, supping on a frothing tankard of ale. Aaah, bliss.

Review of The Prince Of Wales from 6 November 2009

Wonderful traditional pub situated in a gorgeous picturesque square in Kennington. Summertime is accompanied by lazy days drinking outside in the sun with boules players in the square, while the less bright months find you tucked up inside a warm, cosy, well-maintained pub with great cask ales and excellent service. Food menu is maybe a little limited (lunchtime, for example, is a choice of bangers and mash, fish and chips, salad, or sandwiches), but what is on the menu is scrumptious.

One of the best in the area and probably an ideal spot to bring a tourist friend to, it has all of the 'traditional English charm' without being overrun by tour busses.

Review of The Prince Of Wales from 2 September 2009

This is a lovely little pub in an almost idyllic location not far from Kennington Station.

The pub is located in the corner of Cleaver Square and in nicer weather they will give you plastic receptacles for your drinks should you wish to take them into the square. People seem to be playing boules/petanque in the square so maybe you can join them if that is your thing.

We preferred to sit just outside and take in the sun, but the inside is very pleasant too. They serve 3 ales and the usual drinks. I’m pretty sure food is available too though I didn’t try any.

Definitely recommended, particularly for a lazy summer afternoon!

Review of The Prince Of Wales from 30 June 2009

Now this is a great pub and i was so pleased to have discovered it on Saturday night. The Prince of Wales in Kennington has everything a real-ale loving, avid sportsman could ever want - A fine selection of ales (including Deuchars IPA), Great food and an area for Boules (Petanque) outside the pub. You’ll need to put a £20 deposit behind the bar to take a Boules set, but it’s well worth it. Great fun.

Friendly staff and punters and generally a great pub experience. This is somewhere you can take your Mum and Dad or hit up with your mates on a big friday night out.

An easy 5 stars.
