This has got to be one of the most special restaurants in London for ambience. The staff are so incredibly friendly and will greet you in true Thai style. You are led to your table and as you wander through the restaurant it feels like paradise with beautiful greenery, flowers, and a tiny bridge with a stream running through the place and coi carp fish (happily not on the menu)! The presentation of the food deserves top marks with carvings of fruit and vegetables in the shape of flowers. The food itself is delicious with ample choice. So, ok, it is a little pricey but for the experience, it is definately worth it. It feels like you’ve been on a mini holiday.

We first ate here 3 years ago and it was fab. This time we sat by the bar and waited for our pre-dinner drinks for 20 mins. When the drinks came one was missing so another 15 mins. wait. Our starters were very good and we looked forward to the main courses (we had chosen the Royal banquet).Well, I can only say it was downhill all the way. Some of the food was very chewy and all of it was luke-warm arriving at the table and quickly became stone cold.On complaining we were offered a "special" pudding. We had hoped for the whole meal to be special as we were up from Wales for the weekend. The emphasis was on pushing wine and water-------at £5 a bottle!!Never agian will we pay exorbitant prices for mediocre, cold food.

Eating at Blue Elephant is an experience and a half. As soon as you enter it you are suddenly transported into the middle of a jungle with streams, full of coy fish, flowing all through the restuarant. The best thing to do is to go on a Sunday when they offer the Buffet Brunch. Make sure you have eaten absolutely nothing before you go as you will eat your heart out. The buffet had several sections to it, offering all sorts of thai food. There is a noodle section, where you can choose your meat, noodle type and sauce aswell as a curry section. There are several other stands serving other thai dishes. It is important not to fill up on the starters. If you have enough space there is a delicious desert bar sserving all sorts of delicate thai sweets and pastries. This will cost 25GBP/head but it is the perfect way to celebrate a birthday.

Growing up in South-East Asia, I learned that the uglier and tackier a restaurant appears, the tastier the food will be. So you can imagine that I was a bit leery when I first stepped into the spectacularly jungly and koi-ponded interior of the Blue Elephant restaurant in Fulham.

Any misgivings I might have had simply melted away at the first bite. This may be the best Thai restaurant in London: flavours are authentic and vibrant, and range from palate-tickling to tonsil-scorching. The menu is as lush as the surroundings, offering some imaginative twists on well-known staples, with a host of choices available for carnivores and herbivores alike. Staff are smiley and attentive. The atmosphere is buzzy, yet intimate and cosy enough to hold a private conversation. I remember thinking this would be the perfect place to propose to someone. It's so gorgeous that even if they didn't want to, they'd probably say yes.

This thai restaurant has you captivated from the moment you walk in, i love the way you even book your coats into the cloakroom, you are then led into the main room and are taken over a series of bridges that run over ponds with big colourful fish it all feels very exotic.

The main event ie the food is fantastic the menu is truely vast and great for anyone, you can mix and match as much as you like and there is a set menu option too. The drinks are delicious with a cocktail menu thats out of this world.

The staff are very attentive and can help guide you through the entire menu. Service is quick too.

This place is perfect for a large party or can be very romantic for a special meal ina special place.

The Blue Elephant first opened in 1986 on the site of a Victorian factory in an unfashionable and busy part of Fulham Broadway and seemed exiciting at the time.
Its greatest appeal to the London diner would be its interior design which is almost like an idyllic oasis in our noisyand overcrowded city.

As soon as you enter the doors you are in a completely different world of tropical foliage, waterfalls, sparkling fish and a charming series of bridges as you walk over to your dining table.

Putting the decor aside the food is the main attraction and prepared by the chef Sompong Saejeaw in an appetising fashion to appeal to the western palate. If you are adventurous enough then try the stirfried Thai spiced crocodile meat with chili, basil, fresh peppercorns and palm hearts.

But for the faint hearted they have more traditional dishes like chicken satay, the staple Thai green chicken curry or the marinated duck.

This definitely lives up to its reputation. Well worth a visit, if just for the decor alone. When you walk in you go over a bridge that spans a small river that runs through the restaurant. All very tropical in feel - a real experience. The food is delicious and there's a good vegetarian selection. It is very expensive though, but I think you are probably paying for the whole experience.

If you want a stunning place to go on a date that isn't pretentious this is great.

You walk in over a river of fish (I think they are koi but I don't really know) and you sit in a virtual forest of green foliage and bamboo. The food is really good (not incredible, but really good solid creative thai) with some real gems on the menu, and they know how to make hot, properly hot too.

The bar is well equipped with premium spirits and a good cocktail menu. Wine list is long and has a lot on it and can be a tad bit over priced, but well, you're sitting in a forest by a river of fish.

I've been here for work functions, birthday parties and dates. My favourite Thai place in London, and you won't regret trying it out.

Really enjoy making a visit to the Blue Elephant, although its novelty has worn off over the past decade or so. It was one of the first slightly upmarket Thai restaurants in London with "an experience" to boot - namely the profusion of jungle foliage and water features inside. Still good fun and turning out good quality food, albeit the dishes (satays, curries, pad thais etc etc,) we're all too familiar with nowadays.
