This is a beautiful venue with an attitude! There is a fantastic beer garden and each room has a different theme in terms of décor. Journey there was a bit of a mystery for first-timer but it adds on to the fun of the place!
Music was great! When I went on Saturday a few weeks ago, it was so packed; the place is much smaller that it looked like on the website! At about 8pm, there were already queues at the entrance waiting to get in. However, it was a good night out, we partied till 2am!

This place has been named the “Best Bar in London” and you can see why. Stuck about twenty minutes walk from Clapham Junction this place attracts a well heeled and friendly crowd and you are pretty much guaranteed a good night. The décor is glorious, a particular highlight for me is the restaurant area which is decked out like a courtesans chamber from the early 1900s, every time I come here I want to rush out and redecorate my flat in a similar way. Designed by the legendary Paul Daly the attention to detail really makes this place stand out from competition. Food is competent and comes in generous portions with some more left-field options on the menu. The cocktail list is to die for and expresso martinis are a must to fuel your partying. There is a cute garden where you can smoke or enjoy the sun. At weekends this place is rammed, and rightly so, the crowd is young, sexy and up for it. During the week the vibe is more chilled and this makes it the perfect place to meet for a leisurely dinner washed down with some decent wine or maybe a cocktail or two. The service is attentive and the barmen are generally hot so if you want eye candy you are on to a winner too. The only issue I have with this place is that I always seem to spend far longer here than I originally anticipated.

A great bar with a fantastic beer garden. They put up a marquee in the winter with heaters so this is a smokers paradise. Drinks are a bit pricey, but the atmosphere is probably the best you will find in Clapham.

Highly recommended evening fun.

What a find! Formerly the Tea Room des Artistes, Lost Society occupies the oldest building in Clapham, and old barn from the 16th century. Not that you could tell that it's that old, with their funky art deco decor, which gives it a deliciously decadent feel. The lay-out is unusual and reminds you more of someone's home than a bar, but it works really well. The main bar is on the ground floor as you enter, but there are few seats here, and upstairs in the loft-like room is where all the action takes place. I had to leave early last time I was here but already the whole room had just turned into one big dancefloor.

There's also a fantastic beer garden which even has its own little bar and some extremely hot heating lamps. It's almost like there's a separate party out there! But you wouldn't want to miss out on what the dj's got to offer, he was great.

Drinks were a bit on the expensive side, but it's worth it, and their selection of beer is just fantastic. In fact, their drinks selection overall is fantastic - very extensive.

Oh, and check out their very cool website! It'll tell you everything about their cool events, and it's worth a visit for its catchy funky music alone.

Lost Society is one of my favourite bars in London. Actually, it's one of my favourite bars full stop. I think this place is so tastefully decorated, and the attention to detail is fabulous, from the wall paper to the chandeliers to the mirrors, seating and even the bird cages for something different. I love the look of this place, and the atmosphere is great too. There is a lovely outdoors area as well and the music is so funky and non main stream. It is a little small and it does get extremely packed, but this is one bar in which I don't mind that at all! The place is classy (so the drinks are a little pricy) you can have a lovely meal here too, and there are plenty of nooks to have a cosy seat to hide out with your group of friends. I can't speak more highly of this place, and I even like the fact that it's a little smaller than other places as it gives it an exclusive feel. Besides, it's not a bad night when you get squashed up to some of the other Lost Society fans! Yum yum

Lost Society is the perfect place to spend your whole night… dinner, drinks and dancing!
It’s an intimate venue made up of lots of small areas, adorned with statues and chandeliers. The food here is exquisite, especially for a bar. It’s usually a set menu, 2 courses for £17 but I believe you can order a single course for £15. I have previously tried the soup, risotto, lamb shank and steak – all of which were delicious! The service through dinner is always friendly but never particularly speedy, so it’s certainly not a good bet if you’re in a hurry.

Back downstairs the bar is usually heaving from 7.30pm onwards, so arrive early if you don’t want to queue. One reason it gets so hectic so early on is probably because they start charging a £5 entry fee from 9pm. Outside, the beer garden has it’s own bottle bar, which is great for all the smokers out there. Later on in the night the dancefloor upstairs will get going and before you know it it’ll be 3am and time to leave!

Oh and one last thing… add yourself onto their mailing list via the website and you’ll be kept in the loop about all their fantastic themed nights; Halloween, burlesque, Sunday jazz – you name it!

The Lost Society won Time Out bar of the year 2006 so I was keen to give it a try. It’s tastefully decorated in an ornate style with an upstairs area and a courtyard lit with fairy lights. The restaurant area is small and intimate and looks down onto the bar which is great for people spotting. We all had steak which was perfectly cooked with great chips. After we went for a bit of a boogie on the dance floor. I was a bit disappointed compared to a previous Saturday I had been too. Then there had been a great female vocalist singing along with the tunes, it added something different to the place. This time there were just thumping tunes with some chavy looking guys with gold chains dancing around monotonously! I went recently on a Friday and am happy to report there were no chavy types this time although it was annoying how long we were made to queue – we were told it was ‘one in one out’ but when I got in there there was loads of room – I’ve seen it far more packed on previous occasions. The lost society is a really nice, more civilised late night alternative to the other Clapham late night options i.e. The Grand, Infernos.

This place is kind of in the middle of no where (or at least it seemed like a long walk from Clapham common)

We were going to come here just for a couple of drinks, but when we arrived there was a £5 cover charge (i think this is applicable after 9pm) unless you are eating, seeing as we were kind of hungry we decided to eat....

The host tried to do some kind of weird deal with us, "You can only eat if you have two courses" where after we haggled him to allow us to eat just one, which he said was fine. It was a slightly odd/ pretentious affair (also, they had one of those stupid rope barriers, which is, I guess, to keep the rabble from overrunning the establishment?) and nonetheless we went up and ended up ordering two courses anyway becuase the food all looked really nice and it was better value to go for 2 for £17 (most of the mains are £13-15).

The eating section upstairs was, to be fair, pretty small and a little squished, but the service was very good and the decor (kind of renaissance stylee, with dark walls, lots of mirrors and gorgeous lighting) was all really nice; the buzzy bar below also leant a nice overall atmosphere.

The food was yummy, I ordered prawn pasta, which was coloured black with squid ink, perfectly cooked and very nice. I sampled some of my friends steak and it was divine.

We all decided to go for desserts (I hardly ever have desserts) i chose banoffee pie and it was also scrumpitious.

The good thing about having the bar below was that after the meal you could go and socialise / get drunk / dance, all some of my favourite past times! Seeing as it was a nice evening, the outside garden was popular and really nice to drink in. The barman also made a very good mojito, which is the true way to my heart!
