Millennium Square is basically just a that - a square of land.
Now and again they have events, most notably the German market near Christmas (which isn’t staffed by many people who speak German) and an ice skating rink just after Christmas.
The rest of the year, it’s somewhere to walk across, and occassionally there’s a band playing.
The one thing I really can’t stand is the statue in the middle of it.

central, next to our new leeds museum. its a central place to meet with friends in the summer, events organised there have been a great success. and you can keep up with the news on the giant tv screen. in december the german christmas market takes place here with bratwurst and beer keller.

Millenium Square is lovely at Christmas, with the giant Christmas tree and the large Christmas markets. It’s a really great place to go to feel christmassy, and to see the lovely buildings in Leeds city centre!

Events are held in Millenium Square in the Summer, but it has to be summer for you to really enjoy the place. It’s lovely to sit out there having a drink in one of the bars. The Christmas market is there in the winter, which is well worth a visit, but if the event is too large, then it means you can’t enjoy people watching on the square becuase it’s all cordoned off.

Millenium Square is central to the LGI, the Town Hall, Leeds University and the Merrion and St Johns centre. With a water fountain and large screen as well as places to sit on a warm summers day, Millenium Square also has pubs and restaurants dotted all around the perimeter meaning you really don’t have to wander far.
Throughout the year you will find that Millenium Square is home to concerts, such as Meatloaf, an ice rink and also a christmas market where you can pick up some really tasty Belgian chocolates.

Millenium Square is a great place to visit. It is surrounded by bars and restaurants and there are often art exhibitions on which are free to view.
Over the winter season there is a huge ice rink and the german christmas market...definitely the best time to visit.
