Paint your own pottery. Fun for kids of all ages, grown-ups too! Choose a piece to paint from the wide range available. They’ve got all sorts of animals, dinosaurs, mugs, bowls, plates and vases. Let your imagination run wild as you paint your work of art, it’s then fired and you can collect it the next day. Or you can paint a piece to take away there and then. This uses different paints to the ones to be fired.
There’s a little cafe area where adults can relax while the children paint, and a small soft play area for wee ones.
The little pottery models we bought were quite reasonably priced considering the amount of fun to be had painting them, and the children are very proud when they collect their work the next day. The wait just adds to the excitement. There are also larger pieces to paint, these can be quite expensive. Another popular item seems to be those casts of babies feet or hands.

No! Wonderful as this place may seem (I've been there, it was fun!) it's actually evil! I have insider information that they set up their new branch directly across the road from Doodles (another ceramics-painting place which has been there since I was a little kid) specifically to put them out of business. EVIL! So, if you're in Leith, OK. If you're thinking of going to the one in Marchmont, THINK AGAIN. Doodles is much nicer anyway and its just across the road. Plus us locals won't give you evils when you come out.

This is a great place to go for both kids and adults. Mums can take the kids along, let them pick a ceramic piece to decorate then leave them to it while they have a coffee in the in-house cafe area. Huge choice of ceramics to pick from, both physically and price wise. You can choose something fun, ornamental or for a gift .. how about your child's hand or footprint stamped on to a tile, then add a name and date, or other personal message, and have it glazed for posterity. Younger kids can play in the ball park area, while mum and their siblings do their thing. Huge bonus is you get to take away something you have created yourself. Great place to have a party too.

the place to go to make a personal gift as well as having a fun day out.
My friends and i really enjoyed going here with our children on the recommendation of another friend who makes all her husbands gifts from their children here!
you can decorate anything from a mug or a plate to getting your childs feet and hands moulded in clay. i made a lovely mug for Father's Day which had my babies feet prints on it. The staff are very helpful and are always available to give you advise although it is very much you doing the artwork so be prepared to be "hands on" and covered in paint, although kids are definitely encouraged to have fun and make a mess.
There is a cafe and small soft play area to keep kids occupied whilst you relax with a cuppa after all your hard work.
also they can organise childrens parties which as i recall are very reasonably priced.
Definitely something special to do on a rainy day!
