In my opinion, this cinema has gone downhill since it changed to Odeon. They increased prices and changed the seating to a mixture of standard and “premier” seating, for which you pay extra, when the old seats were all the same, and all very comfy.

Having said that, this is the only place in Manchester where you can see an IMAX film, and the only one that has digital projectors in some screens. The digital projection looks great, and alongside digital sound, provides an excellent cinema experience.

Overall, I would probably recommend the AMC, on the other side of town, due to its cheaper prices, loyalty scheme and generally quieter atmosphere.

The Odeon in the Printworks is a 20-screen cinema with a lively atmosphere. With the most screens to choose from of the cinemas in Manchester (including an IMAX screen), it’s a safe bet when it comes to finding somewhere that’s showing the blockbuster you want at a convenient time.

It does get busy during evenings and weekends, so it’s worth booking in advance if you want to avoid the queues for tickets.

Prices are a little on the steep side compared to the competition, but it does offer reasonable value.

The Odeon is the city centre’s largest cinema. Perhaps suitably, it is also the busiest and most expensive. Having said this, it does have an IMAX screen, which is something worth having – it has been used to screen films such as Spiderman, 300 and Transformers, and all three of these films have benefited from the extra screen size and ear bursting sound. The queues at the Odeon can be long, so I might recommend booking in advance. One major gripe: the ‘premier seats’. What on earth is that all about? Nonsense.

The Odeon is a large cinema in the centre of the city. It has 20 screens all of different sizes, it is the perfect place to go to first night showings, the place is always packed with enthusiatic film buffs! There is a bar area, and the Galleries, which for a little extra allow the comfort of leather seats and other such luxuries. The Odeon also houses the Imax 3d cinema which is also amazing. The Odeon is in the middle of the printworks, surronded by various clubs and restaurants so its perfect for a night out!

This Odeon in the Printworks used to be called the Filmworks. It's pretty huge and it includes an IMAX screen, a digital screen, and novelties like sofas and bar service (if you're willing to pay extra).

Otherwise it's just another multiplex and a very busy one at that. I'd recommend the AMC over this.

A pretty standard Odeon here, but as one of only two big screen cinemas left in the city centre, you don't have much choice! The IMAX screen to a unique treat, though.
Make sure you get there WELL before your film is due to start, especially on the weekends; queues can be extremely long at peak times and the way the cinema is laid out means you might have to make your way up several flights of stairs to get to your screen.
