I was in liverpool for work and a colleague took me to this bar/restaurant i must admit walking to it i wasnt convinced as it was very hard to find and out of the hussle and bustle, however it was a real find. The reasturant is inside an old catholic church and they have maintained as much of the initial building as possible. at one side of the bar there were salsa lessons taking place which was really fun to watch. The bar service was great and when we were taken to our table upstairs the impressive interior continued.
The menu wasnt as extensive or as modern as i expected but the food was nice once it arrived (service was a tad slow) The wine menu was suberb one of the nicest wines ive had in such a restaurant.
For something different its real worth a visit the only downside was the slow and then pushy service as the night went on. But very unique and popular locally.

Good place for cocktails and a great job done on decor, however as the bar is not in SW1 why they feel the need to place a £500 minimum spend on booth hire I will never know?
The food is good, but slightly over priced and the place gets far too full on weekends.

Excellent atmosphere in this bar, ate here a couple of times on business trips, not cheap but excellent quality.
They make quite a mean Mojito :o)

This is a ultra-chic Caribbean-themed style bar and restaurant set in what was once St Peter’s Catholic Church! Communion now consists of wine, mojitos and martinis helped down with hearty dishes from a fabulous mezzanine restaurant above the bar that features such delights as grilled venison in butter and boneless rib eye steak. Bizarrely - and some would say spookily - much of the original design of the building remains - it’s just been incorporated into the new look. Thank God then for the stained-glass windows, altar, Lady’s chapel and religious paintings, all lit up by melting church candles. There are various VIP areas to confess - or perhaps suggest a few sins - in as well as booths and much slinky dark-wood furniture. Hallelujah!

Alma De Cuba is a converted church in the heart of Liverpool. Lit by candles, the atmosphere is dimly lit and beautiful. The altar still remains with pictures of the Holy family on the walls with sumptous furniture and delightful wines.
The bar has a wide variety of drinks on offer with a fantastic cocktail menu. Upstairs dining is one not to miss with a varied menu serving fine foods to make your mouth water.
Shows are staged here, Salsa dancing, Brazillian dancing and much more. Do not miss!
